Arcane Journey

Chapter 594: Power of the Dead

As Vizlan waved his fingertips lightly, the magical energy in the air seemed to be pulled by invisible threads, slowly gathering and gradually condensing into an indescribable wave.

This force, like a huge wave in the raging sea, brought with it a destructive momentum that made the surrounding space tremble. Even the sturdy mage tower kept emitting a low hum, as if trembling with the coming storm.

From this, it can be seen that Vizlan, the drow wizard who has been hiding in the Underdark for many years, has obviously become serious and is ready to do his best to get rid of this uninvited guest who rashly broke into his wizard tower.

There was a crackling sound, and terrible energy gathered in Vizlan's palm, like lightning in the center of a storm. The magic arrows gradually condensed into shape, emitting a heart-pounding light.

This energy arrow, which looks like just a first-level spell, actually contains amazing energy that is enough to shake the heavens and the earth.

Brian, a legendary wizard, immediately felt all kinds of negative energies from these inconspicuous arrows, such as dispel magic, disintegration rays, curses, etc. Although this spell may seem insignificant, each arrow actually carries endless malice and destructive power.

As Vizlan gently waved his arm, the magic arrow turned into a brilliant stream of light, cutting through the void like a meteor cutting through the night sky, and shot towards the lich with irresistible power.

However, what surprised Brian was that facing Vizlan's attack, the lich stood there indifferently, the soul fire in his eyes flickering slightly, and he didn't seem to have the slightest intention of attacking.

Then, as the magic arrow accurately hit the lich's hideous skeleton, in an instant, the fine lightning seemed to sense the sudden attack and entwined and jumped on its bones, like nimble silver snakes dancing in the dark air.

However, this terrifying energy only jumped on the lich's body carved by time and curses, like sparks playing among dead branches and leaves, unable to cause any substantial harm.

Brian stood aside and witnessed this scene, and a hint of surprise flashed across his heart.

He didn't even realize what means the lich used to successfully block Vizlan's spell attack that even made him feel a little uneasy.

At the moment when the lightning and the bones intertwined, it seemed as if time stood still and everything solidified at that moment.

"Could it be that... this lich is naturally immune to magic? Or, does it have an extraordinary resistance to magic?" Brian speculated in his heart, with doubt and surprise in his eyes. After all, in the mainstream structure of liches, although most of them are based on negative energy and bones, there are also some liches with sudden ideas who will try to transform their own ribs in various ways in order to find a breakthrough and difference in the endless years.

As a puppet of the Chief Archmage Hedrof, the origin and transformation of this lich should not be underestimated.

In order to create such a powerful puppet, Haizhuov must have devoted his entire life to it, and carried out various modifications and enhancements on it.

Judging from the fact that those fine lightnings were jumping on the lich but were of no avail, the transformation of the lich had obviously reached an incredible level.

It is no longer a simple combination of bones and negative energy, but is endowed with some kind of power and existence form beyond the ordinary.

"Jie Jie Jie..."

As the energy dissipated and collapsed like bubbles, the lich let out a hollow and eerie laugh, as if it was an echo from the bottomless abyss. Then, it stretched out its bony arms and began to slowly cast its forbidden spell.

There was an ominous foreboding in the air, as if even time had frozen at this moment.

Brian's attention was deeply attracted by this scene. He was surprised to find that Heidrof's magic notebook also responded to the lich's call as he raised his hand. It trembled slightly and floated in the air, emitting the same white and green light as the lich. The light flickered like a ghost in the night sky, which was both weird and frightening.

Brian turned his head curiously and stared into the lich's deep eyes.

He saw the flickering soul fire in the lich's sunken eye sockets, like two clusters of will-o'-the-wisp fires that would never go out, flickering with a kind of cunning and complacency that revealed the look of a winner.

The negative energy emitted by the swaying flames seemed to have its own consciousness, resonating with the lich's evil plan.

Shadowy gray energy tentacles burst out from the lich's hands, like flexible and strange poisonous snakes. They twisted and circled in the air, carrying the breath of death, and swiftly attacked Vizlan.

These tentacles clearly have a will of their own. Wherever they go, ripples like water waves unconsciously appear in the space.

At the same time, a strange hexagram magic circle appeared on the magic notebook that was shining with white and green light.

This magic circle was clearly a portal to another world. As it slowly unfolded, it emitted waves of frightening negative energy.

What followed were countless negative energy tentacles as thick as baby arms and emitting light gray mist, extending from the magic circle. They were like flexible poisonous snakes, sweeping towards Vizlan.

The tentacles were seen dancing in the air, making a hissing sound, as if mocking Vizlan's powerlessness and despair.

"Have you opened up the negative energy plane?" Facing the lich's attack, although Vizran looked extremely solemn, a sneer unconsciously appeared on the corner of his mouth. "I have long anticipated that you might have such means, so I have prepared a special gift for you. Now it depends on the two of us to see whose gift is more valuable."

After Vizlan finished speaking, his eyes suddenly turned behind him.

Death Slaadi!

Brian noticed Vizlan's gaze and suddenly realized something. He almost forgot about this guy.

"Ge Sang, you can't wait any longer." Wei Zi Lan said slowly, "If that's the case, now is the time for you to show your skills. Look, what a strong negative energy aura it is. It's so pure and so tempting. It is undoubtedly an incomparable feast for you."

"Cuckoo..."

A strange sound broke the eerie silence of the Mage Tower. The sound was like some creature in the darkness chanting softly.

The Death Slaadi had not yet emerged from the darkness, but its bloated belly looked like a sac that was pregnant with endless desires, and it unconsciously made "gurgling" sounds of hunger.

Then, the ugly, bloated and fat body of the Death Slaad, which exudes a strong negative energy, slowly appeared in Brian's sight. (End of this chapter)
