The beloved baby has a space

Chapter 25 Making trouble

Chapter 25 Making trouble
The people of Shanyang Village, wanting to avoid most of the people from Hujia Village, didn't walk very fast, afraid of making too much noise. As they approached Old Wang's house, the village chief of Shanyang Village was still calling to the people behind him: "Don't make any rash moves, or else—"

"What will happen then?" a cold voice rang out.

The village chief of Shanyang Village sensed something was wrong, turned around, and was shocked.

As they rounded the small hill in front of them, a clearing suddenly appeared before them. The hillside stretched to the end, revealing a well-maintained flat area, where Old Wang's house was located.

They had assumed that there were few people at Old Wang's house, at most some women and children, but they were surprised to find that there were at least seventy or eighty people staring at them with hostile expressions.

Standing at the very front was Old Mrs. Wang, her eyes filled with barely concealed anger. When she looked at the people from Shanyang Village, it was as if she were looking at rotten manure rotting in a field.

"You must be Dewang's wife from the Wang family, right?" The village chief of Shanyang Village considered himself the head of the village and felt it was beneath him to talk to a woman, so he sent one of the village's most eloquent people to speak.

"Get lost! You dare talk to me!" Old Mrs. Wang was too lazy to play games with them. "What do you people from Shanyang Village mean by this? Stealing chickens and dogs here again? What, your village's trees have been stripped of their bark, and now you're coming to our village to beg for food?"

Aunt Hu gripped the scissors tightly, trying to keep her voice from trembling, and said loudly, "That's right, if your Shanyang Village is really that short of supplies, I'll have my husband carry a bag of tree bark to your village, and you'll have plenty to eat."

The word "again" pierced the hearts of everyone in Shanyang Village. This wasn't the second time. Last time, the people from Hujia Village didn't give them any face, and they probably wouldn't give them any face this time either.

"Village chief, don't waste your breath on them. What's the point of talking to these short-sighted, good-for-nothing fools?" The man stepped forward and whispered in the village chief's ear, "Look, most of these people are women, mostly old women. Apart from a few little brats, there are no men. We might as well take advantage of the fact that the men haven't arrived yet—"

The village chief of Shanyang Village hesitated. They had only come to ask for a child, but if they hurt these women, the men might cause trouble if they found out.

If a child is gone, so be it. You can always find another woman and have a few more. In this day and age, who hasn't lost a child? How heartbroken can it be?
But women are different. Although they are considered a financial burden, they are indispensable for daily work and childbirth.

They'll probably make a scene and then let it go if the child gets hurt, but they can't let a woman get hurt, especially a young woman.

Both sides were hesitant to make a move.

The Wang family was indeed frightened when they heard the news. Later, when Hu Erpang came over, they learned that Ayu was still alright.

Liu ran out to look for Ayu like a madwoman. Old Mrs. Wang told her daughters-in-law to stay at home, intending to handle the situation herself. Unexpectedly, several families from nearby came, and the adults and children standing together were quite intimidating.

"What exactly do you want! Go back to where you came from. Hujia Village is not a place for you to run wild!" When Old Mrs. Wang saw the people from Shanyang Village whispering to each other, she knew they must be plotting something bad, so she immediately interrupted them.

"I heard your village found a baby, but it's ours that was lost. Stop hiding it and hand it over right now," the man in front said. "Since you found it, our village won't pursue the matter further."

Grandma Wang spat, "From your village? With all those ugly ducklings and cracked fruits from your village, how could you raise my Ayu? Even Xi Shi wouldn't dream of such a thing!"

"Old woman, don't be so stubborn!" the man retorted angrily. "I advise you to hand over the person obediently, or don't blame us for not showing any neighborly friendship."

Hu Erpang shouted from behind, "Don't hand them over! They'll eat the babies! They'll eat people!"

Several timid children shrank back as fast as they could.

Good heavens, they eat babies! Only evil spirits eat babies!

The people of Shanyang Village hadn't eaten much to begin with, and after walking for so long, they were already starving.

Once the plan was exposed, their patience was completely exhausted.

"Damn it, I don't care about anything else, I just can't lose my kid! Hand over the baby!"

A man pulled a sickle from his waist, brandished it, and charged towards the other side.

The target was actually a child on the other side.

He doesn't care whose child it is; today, he's determined to take one with him!

The child was only five or six years old. He was completely stunned when he saw someone rushing over.

Just then, Ms. Zhang was standing there, picked up the child, and ran.

The man swung his sickle, and a long gash was torn in Xiao Zhang's back, tearing her thick cotton coat and causing it to bleed.

She was scratched, but she didn't care at all. She gritted her teeth and endured it, and ran away with her child in her arms.

"Ah!!" The group of wives screamed in fright; they had never seen anything like this before!

The children who had been watching the commotion were also terrified and scattered in all directions, shouting, "Murder! Murder! People from Shanyang Village are killing people!"

Wang Dalang, Hu Erpanglang, and Wang Sanlang from the Wang family were outside helping to chop firewood when they were the first to receive the children's notification.

Just as they reached their doorstep, they saw the man wielding a sickle rushing towards them. The group grabbed a carrying pole and charged straight at him.

"beat!"

"Kill them!"

"Run! Hide!" Old Mrs. Wang hadn't expected the other party to be so vicious. She grabbed the club in her hand, ready to smash it at the seemingly insane man. Except for her terrified daughter-in-law, everyone else was holding at least a large rock, which they threw at the charging man.

"They're crazy!"

"Smash these lunatics to death!"

Bang bang bang!
Caught off guard, the man was hit on the head several times with stones, and blood gushed out.

"Brothers, what are you waiting for? Hujia Village is bullying us, let's fight them!" The other men from Shanyang Village were initially hesitant, but seeing their villagers draw their weapons after seeing blood, some even turned and ran, intending to have the people guarding the hoes and shovels bring them over.

"Oh no! Oh no! People from Shanyang Village are coming to kill us!"

"They want to eat babies and kill people!"

"It's at Grandpa Wang's house!"

The fastest children have already gone to the center of the village to tell the men who are working the news.

The men didn't have time to ask any more questions; they grabbed whatever they had in their hands, or picked up a stone from the roadside if they didn't have any, and ran towards Old Wang's house.

"Quick, quick, have those people in Shanyang Village gone mad?"

"They've come to steal children from our village! This is outrageous!"

"Hurry up, the house is full of elderly people, wives, and children!"

Everything happened very quickly; from the moment Hu Erpang discovered these people to the moment he notified the Wang family, it was only a short while.

It was only a little over fifteen minutes before the two sides met again and the children went to inform the other adults.

Grandma Wang originally thought that if she could delay a bit, even just saying a few more words would be good, and the men would arrive soon.

Seeing that these people's weapons were about to hurt someone, Old Mrs. Wang became anxious; she shouldn't have been so impulsive.

Who knew that Shanyang Village had become so inhumane, resorting to direct violence.

"what!"

"mother!!"

"it hurts--"

"My leg—"

"I'll fight you!"

Finally, the handover was completed. Some of the young wives were injured while protecting the elderly and children.

Wang Dalang and his brothers wielded their carrying poles without any strategy, but they managed to keep the men at bay.

Those people weren't really robbers or bandits, and they didn't fight particularly hard.

But being adult men, they were ruthless, and even though they didn't hit vital organs, people continued to bleed and get injured.

Just then, everyone suddenly heard a little girl's voice.

"Bad guy! A really bad guy!"

Everyone paused and turned to look. They saw a girl of about two years old moving quickly on the ground. Upon closer inspection, they realized that she wasn't running, but rather that there was a lamb smaller than herself under her.

The lamb's four hooves left afterimages as it carried the girl quickly closer.

Behind them, a much older boy and Liu were running after them.

Most surprisingly, a group of snakes were rapidly approaching from behind them!
"Don't bully Grandma!" Little Ayu wiped away her tears, her voice almost cracking, "Don't bully Brother!"

The lamb stopped abruptly in front of the crowd, but the snakes didn't stop. They charged straight at the crowd, seemingly unafraid of death, and began biting the people of Shanyang Village.

"Ah!"

"There's a snake!!!"

"This snake is poisonous!"

Why do they only bite us?!
