Hogwarts Raven's Claw

Chapter 19 Professor Flitwick's Surprise

Chapter 19 Professor Flitwick's Surprise
Mike quickly came to Professor Flitwick's office, carefully checked his appearance and found that there was no need for improvement, then knocked on the office door.

Mike pushed the door open only after hearing Flitwick's slightly shrill voice from inside.

As soon as he entered the office, Mike smelled a strong sweet fragrance in the office. The cup on the table in front of Professor Flitwick was steaming, and the smell came from there.

"What are you standing there for? Please take a seat." Flitwick waved his wand, and a chair opposite him automatically opened. "How have you been lately, Mike?"

Mike said it was okay to Flitwick, but his attention was still on the unknown drink. The sweet fragrance was so sweet that it was a bit greasy.

Noticing that Mike had been looking at the cup of sweet tea, Flitwick replaced it with new tea with a wave of his wand.

"That was what the previous guest drank. That guest particularly liked sweet things."

Mike thought he might have a guess as to who it was.

"It seems that you have found the room. How is it? Not bad, right?" asked Flitwick.

"It's amazing. That room is like a wishing machine. It gives me whatever I want." Mike said, pretending to be very excited. "And I can feel the existence of magic there. The feeling is indescribable."

"You sensed it? How is that possible?" Professor Flitwick's eyebrows seemed to fly with surprise. "You are really the most talented little Ravenclaw I have ever seen."

Mike picked up the freshly brewed tea on the table and took a sip, looking very proud.

“Being able to sense magic power means that you already have the potential to become a true wizard. You should know that in the past when spells were not simplified, only those who could sense magic power were considered qualified to learn magic.

But even in that era when wizards flourished, there were not many young wizards who could achieve this at your age. You really surprise me."

"Thank you for the compliment, Dean Flitwick."

"What you need to do next is to meditate continuously. Meditation can enhance your perception and control of magic power.

But be careful not to meditate for more than 10 minutes a day. You are still young and your mental strength is not strong enough. If you meditate for too long, you will become listless.

If you overdraw your mental strength for a long time, it may cause irreparable damage to your spirit. This is no joke, so be careful."

Mike nodded in agreement, but he was puzzled. He meditated for about half an hour every day, but he didn't feel anything unusual. Was it because he was an adult in his previous life, so his mental strength was particularly strong? Or was it because of the beverage he often drank?

Professor Flitwick on the side was still in an excited mood. He had jumped down from the special high chair and was walking back and forth in the office with his short legs, as if he was looking for something.

"Aha! Found it. Mike, this is for you." Flitwick threw a wooden box to Mike. "Young wizards with excellent performance should be rewarded. Open it and take a look."

Mike took the wooden box and opened it. Inside was a pendant that looked like a raven.

The pendant was completely black but it reflected a faint light, especially the two eyes of the raven, which seemed alive. The material of the pendant could not be identified, but it felt cool to the touch. It was foreseeable that if it was worn against the skin, it would be very cool in the summer.

"What are you standing there for? Try it on." Professor Flitwick was impatient. Seeing Mike in a daze, he urged him, "This is an antique. It was made by ancient wizards to help young wizards sense and control magic. Currently, there are no more than ten people in the entire wizarding world who can make this kind of pendant."

Mike put on the pendant. Surprisingly, the pendant didn't feel cold against his skin as he had imagined. Instead, it felt a little warm, a bit like jade. "Does it have a name?"

"Of course, it is one of the treasures left by Ms. Ravenclaw. It is called greed. It means never give up the thirst for knowledge."

"Greedy? I love it! Thank you so much, Dean Flitwick."

Flitwick smiled and waved his hand, saying, "As I just said, young wizards who perform well should be rewarded. Also, how is your flying class going?"

Talking about the flying lesson of Mike is really hard to describe. Mike was a bank robber in his previous life. He was not the outdated robber of the 1980s, but an outstanding representative of the robbers of the new century.

Do you know what an excellent robber of the new century is?

It's the kind that uses all kinds of black technology. Mike even feels that if he had failed the civil service exam, he could have become a federal agent.

Mike is no stranger to flying, he can do parachuting, hang gliding, and even wing suit flying. With all these experiences, Mike is naturally like a duck in water when using a flying broom, but the flying broom in the wizarding world is too weird.

The brooms the school used for their classes did not have the magic cushions that Mike had expected. The students were just riding on a wooden stick when they rode on the brooms.

The feeling was so painful, and the turning of the flying broom was very difficult, and it was completely dependent on the user's center of gravity. The combination of the two was a disaster, and if you were not careful, you would be upside down, so Mike's first flying lesson ended quickly, and Mike couldn't stand it at all.

Only those little wizards who are flying for the first time and are full of desire to fly can persevere.

But even so, Mike flew much better than other little wizards, after all, he was experienced.

"Uh, it's okay." Mike said perfunctorily, "Why do you ask?"

"Harry Potter has joined the Gryffindor Quidditch team, becoming the youngest member ever to join the school Quidditch team.

If you have time, go find Penelope and ask her to take you to see Quidditch. I have high hopes for you, Mike."

After saying that, Flitwick gave Mike a fatherly smile.

Mike shuddered in shock at this smile. You can imagine what it would be like to see a fatherly smile on Professor Flitwick's goblin-like face. To be honest, it was quite scary.

Mike hurriedly thanked Flitwick and left the office.

Feeling the Greed Pendant on his chest emitting warmth, Mike couldn't help but laugh.

I never expected that dear Flitwick would be so generous. This pendant is a good thing. Mike can clearly feel that his magic perception has increased a lot with the help of the pendant, and the magic power that he could not control before has also loosened a little.

If you put something like this outside, it will probably be fought over, right?

With excitement in his heart, Mike hurried to the Ravenclaw common room. He had no time to feel grateful for his good luck, as he had more important things to do.
