Hogwarts Raven's Claw

Chapter 168: Top 4 Battle

Chapter 168: The Battle for the Top Four (Part )
Snape, who was standing at the edge of the field, narrowed his eyes as he looked at Mike who had become invisible again and Carol who was standing resolutely, and raised his wand to end this game that was beyond suspense.

"Wait, Severus."

Snape did not put down his wand after hearing this. He looked at Professor McGonagall who had just spoken out to stop him and said in an emotionless and cold tone: "McGonagall, do you understand the current situation? That girl is destined to be a loser. Instead of sitting here and watching her get hurt more seriously, why don't we end this game now?"

"Trust me, let her fight."

Professor McGonagall looked at the girl with a strong sense of self-esteem on the field and murmured.

In Carol, Mag seemed to see the shadow of himself when he was young. The same excellent grades, the same stubbornness, and the overly strong self-esteem. Therefore, Mag knew that he must not stop Carol from fighting at this moment, because it meant that they, the professors, did not recognize Carol.

Even if Carol continued to fight, she might be seriously injured or even in danger of her life, but compared to the psychological damage she would suffer if they ended the match, the physical damage was nothing.

"Humph!"

Snape snorted coldly and put down his wand, but he was paying close attention to the situation on the field. As long as there was a dangerous situation, he would forcefully stop the game. In his opinion, the lives of students were the most important. This was not only his duty as the protector of the field, but also because he was a professor.

"What the hell is psychological harm? Life is the most important thing!"

Snape, the professor with a cold exterior but a warm heart, was silently complaining in his heart.

On the field, Mike, who was in invisible state, was squatting not far from Carol, looking at Carol who was having difficulty even standing.

"Oh, this is such a headache."

Mike sighed.

To be honest, Mike was in a difficult position because of Carol's refusing to surrender as long as the world was still alive. After all, Carol was a girl, and a very popular girl at that. If he attacked her again, he could imagine what kind of criticism he would face after the game.

Ultimately, Carol was too weak, weaker than Mike had expected.

Mike had originally made other preparations against Carol's groundhog-burrowing tactics, such as controlling the flames to drill into the tunnel dug by Carol, turning her into a roasted groundhog, and controlling the ground spikes to attack Carol underground.

But now Carol was almost beaten to the point of losing her fighting ability by Mike in just one encounter.

"Well, audience, the match seems to be at a stalemate now." Lockhart explained, "Mike seems to be waiting for Carol to recover. What a gentlemanly behavior."

It would have been better if Lockhart hadn't said anything. As soon as he said it, there was a lot of booing from the stands. Although Carol's supporters cheered with all their might, their voices were obviously not enough in the face of other spectators who outnumbered them by several times.

The audience came to see the fierce battle, not to see Mike demonstrate his gentlemanly behavior.

Listening to the thunderous boos, Mike felt no emotion at all and even felt like laughing.

"It looks like we have to take action, otherwise people will think we are fixing the match. What an impatient bunch of spectators."

As he said this, Mike squatted down and randomly fired a disarming spell in Carol's direction.

A red light suddenly shot out from the empty corner, which frightened Carol, who was already shaky and unsteady, and she lost her balance and fell to the ground.

However, the red light that should have hit her fell on the ground five meters away from her.

Carol didn't need to dodge and wouldn't be hit. Mike deliberately missed the target. Mike's original intention was to pretend to attack Carol to silence the people in the stands, but he obviously didn't know how strong Carol's self-esteem was.

Carol looked at the shallow marks on the ground left by the red light, listened to the deafening booing in her ears, and tears of humiliation kept sliding down her cheeks.

The suppressed emotions finally erupted, and Carol hysterically roared in the direction of the red light:
"I don't need your pity! Mike, are you still a man? Are you afraid of me? Huh? Come on! Coward!"

Carol's voice was very loud. Although the audience in the distant stands did not hear it, Snape and others at the edge of the field could still hear it clearly.

"What a troll brain!" Snape cursed, "You provoke me when you know you can't win. Wouldn't it be better to just admit defeat?"

Yeah, wouldn’t it be better to just admit defeat honestly?

Mike was thinking the same thing at the moment. He really didn't understand why Carol was still holding on. Carol was not him, Mike. Even if she persisted, the result would not change if she had the golden finger to protect her.

But even though he didn't understand, Mike still admired Carol's stubbornness. Carol was a respectable opponent. Mike decided to fulfill Carol's wish and do his best to give Carol a resounding defeat.

In the empty corner, Mike's figure slowly emerged, and he was about to start showing off!

"Carol, you are a..."

Before Mike could even utter the words "respectable opponent", a disarming spell shot out and interrupted him.

Mike, who was trying to show off, obviously didn't notice that although Carol seemed to be out of control, she had been silently observing every move on the field, and would attack him as soon as he appeared.

And what I just said to Mike was just a provocation.

With a bang, the disarming spell hit Mike accurately. The moment it was hit, the blackthorn wood wand in Mike's hand was affected by the disarming spell and was knocked away.

Carol's eyes were shining with hope, and she waved her wand quickly, preparing for the next attack spell. Now that Mike's wand had fallen out of his hand, it also meant that Mike had lost his fighting power. As long as she worked harder, she could defeat Mike!

All the spectators at the scene also saw this scene. Faced with Carol's despicable method which was no different from a sneak attack, most of the duelists present were angry.

"You despicable witch, you actually attacked me by surprise!"

"You're a disgrace to Ravenclaw, god damn it, you should be in Slytherin, you unscrupulous little Scottish ass!"

"Wait! Are there donkeys in Scotland?"

...

Putting aside what happened in the stands, Mike on the field did show a look of surprise for a moment when he was hit by the disarming spell, but then he returned to normal.

Because Mike activated the combat wand sheath hidden on his right arm.

The next moment, under Carol's desperate gaze, the magic wand that flew out of Mike's hand seemed to be summoned by its owner and flew back to Mike's hand at a faster speed than when it left.

"Phew, that was a close call, Senior Carol."
