Chapter 565 Coincidence?

Claire and Bevan were each lost in their own emotions.

But Yaro suddenly thought of a question—why was it such a coincidence?

Whether it was the incident at the Witcher Academy or the disaster that broke out in Perrin's territory, the Fernando wizarding family was behind it all.

Now, Claire says that was the best time for him to break through to the Great Knight.

This is probably no coincidence.

In other words, Claire had probably already caught the attention of the Fernando wizarding family!

If Claire succeeds in breaking through, the disaster in Perrin's territory will still occur, but the outcome will probably be 'divine justice'. At that time, Claire might bow down to him for saving her family's lives.

Although Claire failed to break through and remained silent for several years, it seemed as if she had been abandoned by the Fernando wizarding family.

But if what happened before could be a trial arranged by the Fernando wizarding family for Claire, then the current war in the Earl's territory could also be seen as a continuation of that trial.

No one knows whether the Fernando wizarding family will still have the means to subdue Claire again when she makes her mark once more.

This outstanding process could be a breakthrough into a Grand Knight, or it could be the success of Yaro's early plan, with Claire 'changing her profession' to 'Heroine'.

"If the Fernando wizarding family wants to subdue Claire, where will they start?"

……

After a moment, Claire was the first to regain her composure and solemnly said:

"Although I can see some shadows of 'Knight Breathing Technique' and 'Blood Frenzy' in 'Eight Extremes Method', its starting point is completely different from knight training."

"Knight training mainly focuses on the 'Knight Breathing Method,' which involves drawing strength from the world and then using that strength to train the body."

"Martial arts start from the human body itself, and the first step is to deeply explore the potential of the human body."

"They have something in common, but they are two completely different paths."

"And the content of this book, 'Acupoint Striking,' should be an expansion of the attack methods based on this."

"Compared with my previous combat experience, I had vaguely felt that the attack was very effective in many positions, but I had never understood so clearly and thoroughly which positions were available and the function of each position."

"Lord Yarrow, I believe your plan is indeed feasible."

"I will return to the count's territory immediately to seek the countess's consent and request her cooperation in the preliminary stages."

Upon hearing this, Yaro frowned.

He naturally knew what Claire meant by 'early coordination'.

It means announcing to the outside world that Claire has been temporarily relieved of his post and sent back to his territory to 'reflect'.

Claire needs some time to meditate on the "Eight Extremes Method" and "Acupoint Striking," and also needs to withdraw from the public eye to lay the groundwork for her future plans.

But Yarrow did not want Claire to reveal the entire plan to the Countess.

After speculating about Claire's fate, Yarrow also began to have some doubts about the Countess's stance.

But Claire had been with the Countess for decades, and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call her family, so Yarrow couldn't very well tell him his unfounded suspicions.

They had no choice but to probe the tunnel:

“The fewer people who know, the safer the plan will be. You can go back and apologize to the Countess, or simply say you want to rest for a while. That will be enough to achieve our goal. There’s no need to trouble the Countess.”

In Yarrow's plan, as long as Claire does a good job in the early stages, she can then use her power to intimidate others, leaving the Countess with no choice but to agree.

“Countess Ilinda is a wise elder. Her wisdom and experience can definitely help us make up for any missed opportunities. And… I’m sorry, Wizard Yarrow, I can’t bring myself to hide such an important matter from her.” Claire answered politely, yet her tone was firm. Even the way she addressed her subtly shifted from 'Lady Yarrow' back to 'Wizard Yarrow'.

Yaro remained expressionless and chuckled lightly:

“I can understand. After all, you’ve been my lord for decades… Your loyalty is worthy of respect.”

"Thank you for your understanding." Claire leaned forward and gave a slight bow.

Yaro nodded in acknowledgment, his initial desire to inquire further about the Grand Knight's affairs waning. He rose and said:

"Alright, since everything's alright here, I'll head back to the academy. We can discuss anything else when you get back."

"Aren't you going to check on those two knights who tried to assassinate you?" Claire stood up as well, asking in surprise.

"Since they were arrested halfway, it is an internal matter of the Earl's territory and has nothing to do with me."

Yaro spoke in the same tone as before, saying, "This is your war, not mine."

Claire remained silent, standing still.

Outside the door, only Yarrow's calm voice could be heard narrating:

"Take those two books with you too. Read them carefully on the way and familiarize yourself with the contents as soon as possible."

……

"Father?" Bevan called out hesitantly.

“I’m fine.” Claire gave a wry smile and looked down at her son. “That defeat may have broken my spine, making me indecisive in everything I do… Oh well, don’t worry about me, and don’t follow my example. Just keep up with your teacher.”

……

Back in the carriage at the academy, Yaro was much more relaxed now that he no longer had to worry about being attacked. He used his "Armor of Escape" again, and practiced his control over magic by playing a game like "Tetris".

Across the carriage, Bevan looked out the window, but was actually using his peripheral vision to secretly observe his teacher.

Just then, Yaro suddenly raised his head.

Bevin's eyes immediately darted around.

"Is there a problem?"

"What?" Bevan turned around and looked around, as if wondering who the teacher was talking to.

“There are only the two of us in this carriage.” Yaro put down the wooden plank in his hand and said irritably, “You’ve seen me almost fifty times along the way. If you have something to say, just say it directly. Don’t be like a thieving rat, going around in circles and annoying people.”

"Well... teacher, you noticed all of this?" Bevin smiled sheepishly.

"Say it!"

The two looked to be about the same age, but as soon as Yaro became serious, Bevin immediately straightened his posture.

"Teacher, I was checking to see if you were angry."

"Angry? Why would I be angry?"

“I don’t know. My father might know a little, but he didn’t tell me.”

Didn't you tell me?
Was he completely unaware of the details of that disaster?

I vaguely sensed something, but I couldn't believe it, couldn't accept it, and was deceiving myself?
Or perhaps, they didn't want Bevin involved?
The problem is, whether Bevin wants to get involved or not, he is still involved in these matters.

Can we really expect the Fernando wizarding family to ignore Bevan's existence when they want to control Claire?
