Similarly, they fermented feces, urine, and food scraps to turn them into a gas and some residue.” “The gas is biogas, which can be burned and used for power generation or cooking. And the rest only needs a little processing to be used to make fertilizer.” Tierra spoke as if she were giving them a high school biology elective.

"Genius! Absolutely genius! How did those Muggles come up with that?" Arthur Weasley exclaimed.

“Is it possible,” Tyella sighed, “that because Muggles don’t have magic and can’t use the Vanish Charm, and then the excrement piles up there, stinking and rotting, forcing them to find a way to dispose of the excrement and turn it into something useful to them?”

"Oh, don't they use flush toilets?" Arthur Weasley asked, puzzled.

"Have you ever thought about what happens to the waste after the toilet flushes it away?" Tierra asked.

“Shouldn’t we just bury it in the ground?” Arthur Weasley asked. “Yes, why don’t we just bury the excrement and urine in the ground? Wouldn’t that fertilize our crops? There were a few times before when Jasmine told us not to use the Vanishing Charm to deal with the excrement, and that we had to bury it in the ground to fertilize the crops.”
