Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones

Chapter 644 Mrs. Weasley's Prejudice

Chapter 644 Mrs. Weasley's Prejudice
Of course, the old Aurora Tierra, who hadn't done anything wrong in the Ministry of Magic and was a person with a sense of justice, wasn't dismissed. He was just told that he needed to take a "British Magical Federation Laws and Regulations Examination", a "British Magical Federation Policy Assessment", a "British Magical Federation Moral Character Examination", and a "British Magical Federation Civil Servant Assessment".

To be eligible for a perfect score of 100, one must achieve 90 or higher in the "Laws and Regulations Examination" and the "Moral Character Examination" of the Magical Union of England and Wales, and a total score of 150 or higher in the other two subjects. After swearing an oath before the Magical Law Stone, which is enchanted with an unbreakable spell, one can immediately be issued an Auror Certificate and begin taking up a post.

Of course, Tierra also considered that some experienced but somewhat declining older colleagues might not be able to memorize so many laws and regulations. Therefore, she lowered the admission standards for older Aurors who had worked in the former Ministry of Magic for more than fifteen years: a score of 65 in the "Laws and Regulations Examination of the British Magical Federation" and the "Moral Education Examination of the British Magical Federation", and a total score of 100 or above in the other two subjects were sufficient.

In addition, there is one more condition: when taking action, one must act with a new Auror who has passed all four exams.

Even so, even after Tierra made an exception and greatly lowered the standards for rehiring, some veteran Aurors still failed to meet the passing score, forcing them to work as assistant Aurors or Auror advisors, handling clerical work behind the scenes.

This includes Alastor Moody and Kingsley Shaker.

That's why they have so much free time now.

So when Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, and Luna said goodbye and followed Sirius Black back to Number Twelve Grimmauld Place, they found Alastor Moody and Kingsley Shackleton, two tall men, helping Mrs. Weasley prepare red cabbage and onions in the basement kitchen.

"Kingsley! My Merlin! That's not how you cut onions! You have to peel off the outermost red skin of the onion first, with a peeling charm, but don't use too much force, and then cut off the top and bottom of the onion. The skin and the top and bottom of the onion are completely inedible!" As Harry finished packing his luggage and was about to walk from the third floor to the living room, he heard Mrs. Weasley's sharp scolding voice from the kitchen.

Harry didn't hear Kingsley's rebuttal, either because he didn't refute it or because his voice was too soft for Harry to hear.

Harry paused for a moment and decided to go up to the second floor first to find Hermione or Ginny before going down together.

Harry stood in the exquisite and luxurious living room on the second floor, gazing at the street scene outside through the huge floor-to-ceiling window. After waiting a few minutes, he finally saw Hermione finish getting ready and come out of her room.

"You need something?" Hermione asked, puzzled.

“No,” Harry said. “It’s just that things are a bit busy down here right now, so I think I’d better not go and cause any trouble.”

"Pfft—" Hermione chuckled. "Mrs. Weasley did seem a bit irritable today. Even you on the third floor could hear it. Normally, it would only reach the second floor."

"Haha." Harry laughed awkwardly a few times.

“Let’s go.” Hermione tossed her hair and tugged at Harry’s sleeve. “Ginny will be here a while.”

“Okay, let’s go.” Harry didn’t linger; as long as Hermione and Ginny, two of Mrs. Weasley’s favorite girls, were by his side, that was enough.

"What! Ronald—" As they walked down the long corridor on the first floor, they suddenly heard another shrill voice from Mrs. Weasley.

"How could you! How could you! Didn't I tell you! I won't allow you to take the Dark Arts class on Tierra!" Mrs. Weasley's angry voice pierced through the walls and reached Harry and Hermione's ears. "How dare you lie to your mother like this! How dare you disobey your mother like this! I wrote you countless letters last semester, and you ignored them all, didn't you? You never once mentioned that you had chosen the Dark Arts class!"

"Mom! I didn't choose! I was just sitting in!" Ron's aggrieved voice followed, "And Harry and Hermione were sitting in too!"

Harry and Hermione exchanged a glance, then immediately turned and squeezed together as they ran up the stairs to Number Twelve Grimmauld Place, heading back to their room without looking back. "Harry?"

"Hermione?"

Mrs. Weasley’s shrill voice rang out behind them.

Harry was glad he waited for Hermione and didn't rush downstairs.

However, not long after Harry returned to his room, either George or Fred Weasley suddenly appeared in Harry's room.

“Harry, Harry, watch out! Mom’s super angry right now,” George or Fred Weasley said gleefully.

“Yes, I know. Because Ron and we sat in on Tierra’s Dark Arts class,” Harry said.

"Oh, so you heard everything?"

“How could I not hear Mrs. Weasley shouting so loudly?” Harry shrugged.

“I think Mom is making a complete fuss.” George. No, not Fred, Harry judged.

Fred plopped down on Harry's bed, then crossed his arms behind his head and lay down.

This is Fred's unique habit: when he feels particularly tired, he likes to find a place to lie down with his hands crossed behind his head.

George, on the other hand, prefers to lie down, which is one of the few differences between the two brothers.

“You know that Tyrell also runs tutoring classes outside Hogwarts, right?” Fred sank deeper into the bed. “They’re called the Adult Continuing Education for Wizards, and they say they hope to give wizards who have already entered society some opportunities so that they can also receive higher education.”

"What are they teaching?" Harry asked again.

"Those kinds of classes we studied, things like dark magic, defense against the dark magic, herbalism, transfiguration, and so on," Fred said with a shrug. "I'm not planning to go to magic university, but quite a few of our employees are studying with Tierra's textbooks and crystal balls containing the lessons."

“George and I listened to a few sentences, and it was very good,” Fred said. “It was very interesting, the points were very clear, and it also covered a lot of test-taking techniques.”

"And the black magic and magical techniques that Tierra taught can be quickly applied to actual production, hehe," Fred suddenly chuckled. "Our product quality and output have increased a lot, hehe, which has made us a lot more money."
