Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones

Chapter 641 Time Flow Speed

Chapter 641 Time Flow Speed

After drinking the cream of mushroom soup, Harry crawled back into bed and slept soundly until dawn.

Sure enough, I didn't have any more of those strange dreams in the second half of the night.

The next day, Harry lingered in bed for a while before getting up, and by the time he did, breakfast time at Hogwarts was almost over.

Fortunately, he had drunk a cup of creamy mushroom soup with extra cheese in the middle of the night the night before, so Harry didn't feel hungry at all. He got up leisurely, washed up, and then walked down the stairs of the dormitory tower to the Gryffindor common room.

Hermione sat on a small sofa chair next to the entrance of the boys' dormitory, while Ron...
Ron sat on the large sofa next to the fireplace, and no one knew what was wrong with him and Lavender Brown, as they were kissing so early in the morning without any regard for others.

"Good morning, Harry!" Sensing someone coming down the stairs, Hermione looked up and, seeing it was Harry, immediately closed her notebook and greeted him. "I heard from Ron that you had another nightmare?"

"Oh, um...yes...it wasn't entirely a nightmare," Harry stammered, hesitating whether to tell Hermione about the dreamscape Tyrell had told him the night before.

“I heard from Ron that you went to the Dreamlands last night?” Hermione asked.

“Oh? Oh yes, yes,” Harry replied, clearly not expecting Ron to say it out loud.

“Don’t worry, I know about Dreamlands. It’s no secret. Tierra said he’ll be teaching about Dreamlands at the Hogwarts University.” Hermione smiled, seemingly guessing Harry’s thoughts, and patted Harry’s shoulder lightly. “Tierra told me about Dreamlands a long time ago. When he was forging the Philosopher’s Stone, I saw a coin with a strange pattern in his Seamless Extensions workbox. He said it was the currency of Dreamlands. It doesn’t have a name that can be pronounced by humans, but it can be called the Sign of Nordens. It’s said that the pattern on it can help us resist evil gods.”

“Here you go.” He said, taking a strange gold coin out of his purse and handing it to Harry.

Harry took the gold coin from Hermione and examined it carefully—

The reverse of the gold coin features a trident entwined with two fish and olive wreaths, while the obverse depicts the face of a dignified old man composed of countless lines and geometric patterns.

"So you had the pleasure of visiting Dreamland last night?" While Harry was examining the gold coins, Hermione pulled him to sit on a stool next to him and then asked with great interest, "I heard Tyrell say that it's a place like paradise, is that true?"

“Oh… um… I, I didn’t fall there, it’s called the Cold Plains… um… wait, Hermione, didn’t Ron tell you?” Harry asked in surprise.

"Pfft, he... ah..." Hermione deliberately dragged out the sound, then curled her lip in disdain.

“Ron told me that you fell into a dream world in your dream last night, and I was only halfway through my story when that silly girl Lavender Brown came rushing over aggressively, looking like I was trying to seduce her Ron,” Hermione teased. “And then she’s been kissing Ron ever since.”

Harry glanced helplessly at Ron and Lavender Brown, who were still biting their lips on the sofa, and nodded silently.

“Hmm, Hermione, do you think Lavender Brown might have given Ron a love potion?” Harry asked hesitantly. “Isn’t he being a bit too clingy?” “Hermione?” Hermione chuckled, then seemed to realize her lapse in composure and coughed lightly to cover it up. “Ahem. Forget about her. She doesn’t have the brains for that.”

"Alright, Harry, come on, tell me what the places you've been to are like?" Hermione looked at Harry expectantly, then opened her notebook again, took out her quill, and looked like she wanted to take notes.

"Uh," Harry scratched his head a little embarrassedly, and then began to tell Hermione what Tyrell had told him the night before, adding his own genuine feelings as well.

Meanwhile, Voldemort remained a black mist, flying through the fierce storm above the boundless white snowfield. Apart from the pure white snow, the bluish-white stones, and the occasional footprints, Voldemort found nothing.

Voldemort also stopped to study the footprints stuck in the snow.

Some of the footprints were hoof-shaped footprints of the Coldlands inhabitants, as recorded in the documents. Voldemort knew that the Coldlands inhabitants were a race enslaved by the Moon Beasts. As a Moon Beasts' agent, generally speaking, following the Coldlands inhabitants would either lead to finding a single Moon Beast or a gathering place for Moon Beasts.

So after identifying these hoof-shaped footprints, unique to the inhabitants of the Cold Plains, in the snow, Voldemort tried to follow them. Unfortunately, the wind and snow here were too fierce, and the footprints would often disappear into the thick white snow after only a few steps, completely vanishing into the howling wind and snow of the Cold Plains.

After several fruitless attempts, Voldemort had no choice but to abandon his plan to find the Moon Beast by relying on hoofprints in the Cold Plains. Instead, he continued to follow his original plan, searching for Benner Harbor in the north of the Cold Plains by observing the position of the sun in the sky, hoping to wait there for the arrival of merchant ships that would trade with the Moon Beasts and the inhabitants of the Cold Plains.

After several days of arduous searching, Voldemort was finally able to gaze at the dark ocean in the distance from a mountaintop covered in thick snow and ice crystals.

The sight of the ocean meant that Voldemort's goal for this trip was finally becoming clear. All he had to do was continue flying along the coastline and find Benna Harbor, the only port with simple artificial carvings, based on the general direction.

Of course, if Voldemort was lucky enough, he could spot a huge sailing ship painted bright red, bright orange, or bright gold when he looked out at the horizon.

Over the past few days, as Voldemort searched for Benner Harbor, he would also take breaks in caves he encountered along the way, drink the warming potions he had prepared in advance, and then use his special connection to communicate with the Horcruxes to ascertain the situation outside.

It was through these communications that Voldemort learned that the flow of time in the Dreamlands was subtly different from that in the outside world.

He experienced at least one cycle of the sun and moon in the cold plains, but in the outside world, in the real world, only one night had passed.

This situation made Voldemort even more at ease—

He had at least more time than he had imagined to acquire the Sky Gold, the Flowing Silver, and the Pillar Bronze.
