Chapter 440: The 6th Prophecy Fulfilled
Chapter 440 The Sixth Prophecy Fulfilled
"Hmph, utterly useless, just madman's nonsense. Let's go, let's look elsewhere." Having figured everything out, Umbridge snorted coldly and immediately led her men away from the abandoned washroom—
Clearly, Dolores Umbridge, with her cunning mind, connected the clues provided by Tierra with the information she already knew, and finally arrived at the conclusion Tierra wanted.
At the same time, considering his desire to keep it all to himself, Dolores Umbridge didn't want others to know, or even to delve deeper into the matter, so as not to share any potential benefits he might gain in the future.
So Umbridge pretended to be furious and complained, as if the trip had been a complete waste.
The curse-breaking masters, Bartolo Catton and Aurora Sito Phelps, both laughed and agreed, indicating that they fully understood.
But they didn't believe a single word Umbridge said—
After all, they had worked together for so many years, and they knew better than anyone what kind of bastard Umbridge was.
There might not really be any big secrets in this abandoned women's restroom, and Dolores Umbridge might just be acting out of sheer exasperation, but it's also possible that she has something she wants to hide from them.
As they left the abandoned girls' restroom, each of the three harbored their own secrets, plotting how to use their connections and resources to unlock the secret room—
Only Pacivesley, as if he had committed some heinous crime, spent the entire journey sincerely apologizing to Umbridge for wasting everyone's time.
He was like a lowly office worker who had just joined the company and hadn't done a good job on a small matter.
After Umbridge and her group emerged from the abandoned washroom, Myrtle, who had been floating inside, appeared dazed, as if waking from a dream. Her bewildered eyes gradually regained focus—
"Huh?" Myrtle scratched her head. "Why have I been floating here?"
After saying that, Myrtle tilted her head and plunged into the toilet.
After Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration class, Professor Trelawney's Divination class was scheduled for the afternoon.
In the dimly lit divination classroom in the afternoon, just as the students were about to pull out their dream journals, Professor Umbridge emerged from a trapdoor in the floor.
The students, who were chatting and laughing, suddenly fell silent. Professor Trelawney, who was walking around distributing "The Dream Interpretation Guide," heard the sudden drop in volume in the classroom and turned around.
“Good afternoon, Professor Trelawney,” Professor Umbridge said in her sickeningly high-pitched voice, her face still beaming with that same obsequious smile. “I’m sure you’ve received my notice about checking the time and date of your class.”
Professor Trelawney nodded stiffly with a stern face, looking very unhappy. She turned her back to Professor Umbridge and continued distributing textbooks.
Professor Umbridge, still all smiles, grabbed the back of the nearest armchair, pulled it to the very front of the classroom, placing it just inches behind Professor Trelawney's seat. She then sat down, pulled a writing tablet from her fancy bag, and looked up expectantly, like a toad eyeing a swan, waiting for the lesson to begin.
Professor Trelawney tightened her shawl around her with slightly trembling hands and scrutinized the entire class through her large glasses that magnified her eyes many times over.
“Today we continue our study of prophetic dreams.” Under Dolores Umbridge’s fierce gaze, Professor Trelawney spoke bravely in her usual enigmatic tone, though her voice trembled slightly. “Please pair up and, with the help of the Dream Interpretation Guide, interpret the scenes your partner has recently seen in their dreams.”
After saying that, Professor Trelawney was about to walk back to her seat when she suddenly saw Professor Umbridge sitting next to her. She immediately turned to the left and walked toward Parvati and Lavender, who were already engrossed in discussing a dream Parvati had recently had.
Umbridge had already started writing something on the writing board.
After a few minutes, she suddenly stood up and began to follow Trelawney around the classroom, listening to Trelawney's conversations with the students and occasionally asking a question or two.
“So—” After following Trelawney to a few divination tables, Umbridge looked up at Trelawney and said, “How long have you been in this position, to be precise?”
Professor Trelawney glared at her, crossed her arms, and shrugged her shoulders, as if trying to protect herself from this rude and unfriendly investigation.
She paused slightly, seemingly deciding that the question wasn't so abrupt, and that she had no reason to ignore it, before saying in a very angry tone, "Almost sixteen years."
“That’s quite a while,” Professor Umbridge said, making a few more notes on her whiteboard. “So, Professor Dumbledore appointed you?”
“That’s right,” Professor Trelawney said crisply.
Professor Umbridge made a few notes.
"Are you the great-great-granddaughter of the famous prophet Cassandra Trelawney?" Umbridge asked again. "Yes," Professor Trelawney said, raising her head even higher.
A few more strokes were written on the writing board.
“But I think—if I’m wrong, you can correct me—you’re the first person in your family to have a second sight since Cassandra?”
“These things often skip generations—well… skip three generations,” Professor Trelawney explained.
Professor Umbridge's toad-like mouth grinned even wider.
"Of course," she said sweetly, then jotted down a few more notes. "Well, I wonder if you could predict something for me, hmm?"
She looked up questioningly, her face still beaming. Professor Trelawney tensed instantly, seemingly unable to believe her ears.
“I don’t understand what you mean,” Trelawney said, trembling as she clutched the shawl wrapped around her thin neck.
“I hope you can make a prophecy for me,” Professor Umbridge said clearly.
Most of the students in the classroom stared blankly at Professor Trelawney, who stood ramrod straight, her beads and bracelets jingling incessantly—
At that moment, almost everyone recalled the prophecy made at the funeral at the end of last school year—
"Sixth, our lovely Divination professor, Professor Trelawney, is a true prophet, but next semester she will be subjected to inhumane persecution by the Pink Toad. Please help her."
“The Heavenly Eye will not be ordered to look!” Professor Trelawney said indignantly.
“I understand,” Professor Umbridge said softly, making a few more notes on her writing board.
“I—but—but—wait a minute!” Professor Trelawney suddenly said, trying to speak in her usual ethereal voice, but her trembling with anger ruined that mystique. “I…I think I really saw something…about you—”
Professor Trelawney had barely begun speaking when she suddenly froze.
……
As Umbridge asked Trelawney to make a prophecy, Tyella, sitting in the Hogwarts Headmaster's office, took a sip of mutton and pea soup and smiled.
Tiera's divine dimension extends downwards, enveloping Trelawney's spiritual dimension.
……
Professor Trelawney just stood there, blankly standing in the middle of the classroom.
The pupils of his eyes gradually dilated, and his gaze drifted into the distant void.
"Ahem?" Umbridge waved her hand in front of Professor Trelawney's eyes. "Playing tricks!"
Umbridge said fiercely, and then prepared to write something in the notebook.
But at that moment, Trelawney's eyes suddenly moved, staring intently at Umbridge—
"Hehehe..." Tyella chuckled as she sat on the rooftop of the eighth floor of Hogwarts.
at the same time--
"Hehehe..." Professor Trelawney, standing in the center of the divination classroom, also made the same sound.
