Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones

Chapter 392 The Dark Lord

Chapter 392 The Dark Lord

Tiera crossed the magical barrier outside Nurmengard and entered the castle.

First, there was the dark, dilapidated stone gate, marked with signs of fire, and above it, faintly etched, Grindelwald's famous quote—

“For Greater Good.”

Even though he was German, Tierra didn't know why he had the sentence engraved in English.

Tiera, like a ghost, passed through the tightly closed gates of Nurmengard and arrived at the equally dilapidated entrance hall inside the castle.

While outside the castle, Tiera had noticed that it was completely different from what he had imagined. Tiera had always thought Nurmengard would be a solitary and isolated tower, but now that he was actually inside, he found that Nurmengard was more like a fortress than a solitary tower.

Nurmengard features round towers, narrow windows for insulation, semi-circular arches, low domed roofs, and progressively projecting door frames for decoration.

The extensive use of columns and vaulted ceilings of various shapes achieves a solid, heavy, balanced, stable, and powerful aesthetic effect. The narrow windows contrast sharply with the vast interior space, making the castle dimly lit and extremely deep, giving it a mysterious and gloomy feel.

Nurmengard gave Tyella a strange sense of resemblance, as if it were a replica of Hogwarts Castle—

Tiera stood frozen, staring at the dilapidated decorations and dust-covered furniture in the foyer—

Having become a four-dimensional being and gained divine dimension, Tiera inexplicably shivered.

This situation should not have happened.

Tiera no longer feels cold or afraid; he shouldn't be experiencing any "shivering."

But in fact——

He appeared.

For the first time, Tierra felt a little slow to realize what was happening, like an explorer who had unwittingly stumbled into a haunted house. The longer Tierra stayed inside, the more pronounced this eerie and chilling feeling became—

Tiera seemed to have stepped into some chaotic vortex, upside down, front and back confused, past and present seemingly intertwined, the entire Nymungard filled with all sorts of figures—

Legend has it that Nurmengard was Grindelwald's main base of operations and prison during his time in power.

Whether viewed from a material, spiritual, or mental perspective, this place is completely empty, except for the helplessly drifting dust and dilapidated rocks, and only the cold air.

However, from the perspective of the divine dimension occupied by Tiera, Nurmengard is undeniably bustling—

When Tiera surveyed the entire scene from the infinite heights of the divine dimension, she saw a bustling crowd here:

On the top floor of the castle, the middle-aged Grindelwald was there. He should have been full of vigor, but he paced back and forth like an old man, his face full of worry.

On the next floor, the blonde, blue-eyed Queenie Goldstein, wearing a pair of delicate glasses, was standing in front of the blackboard, speaking gently to a boy with a bowl cut.

Every now and then, the young Vinda Rosie would move among them, a calm smile on her face, relaying Grindelwald's various instructions.

Various elites from the magical world, dressed in suits, paced nervously in the foyer, whispering and cautiously exchanging words, awaiting the "holy decree" to be delivered by Venda Rossi with a sense of pilgrimage.

Beneath the surface of Nurmengard lie dark and cramped cells, where prisoners are held listless and lifeless, "placed" in all sorts of bizarre poses like sculptures or marionettes.

These scenes appear almost interspersed, showing Tiera the grandeur of Nurmengard as the center of the entire European magical world during Grindelwald's era.

Fragmented images filled the entirety of Nurmengard in a chaotic mess. This situation caused Tiera's expression to become more serious than ever before.

Clearly, this castle, or something within it, has touched upon the divine dimension.

Gradually, an indescribable cloud of smoke rose from Tierra's body, and soon, Tierra melted into the smoke like ice cream.

The smoke still retained its general human shape, while clusters of brilliant light shone out from the chaotic smoke. Tiera walked step by step toward the highest point of Nurmengard, toward the only room with a sense of life.

This was the first time Tyra had encountered something involving the divine dimension since becoming a god. He couldn't help but be careless. Using his authority over "space," Tyra moved himself to Hogwarts, thousands of miles away, completely detaching himself from this area. Then, using his authority over "creation," he materialized the conceptual "Tyra," allowing the materialized "Tyra" to continue exploring Nurmengard.

As the tangible Tiera ascends step by step, it shares a vision with the conceptual "Tiera" through the uniqueness of its divine dimension.

From a material, spiritual, and mental perspective, Nurmengard remains in its dilapidated state. Dust, untouched for nearly half a century, accumulates in every corner of this once magnificent castle. Nurmengard in the three-dimensional world is deathly silent; not a sound can be heard. The entire Nurmengard castle resembles a ghost town, making it all the more eerie and terrifying.

However, in the divine dimension, the scenes of the glorious years are playing out again and again. Grindelwald's rise, his peak, and his decline are like a series of reincarnations, like a broken yet tragic epic.

About ten minutes later, the conceptualized Tiera finally entered the dark room in the top tower—

Aside from the chaotic scenes that appeared in the divine dimension, Tiera encountered no danger along the way.

But as soon as Tiera entered the highest level of Nurmengard, all the chaotic images around her disappeared.

From a material, spiritual, and mental perspective—

It was a very simple room, with windows that were large, broken holes in the black stone walls, and the cold air was slowly eroding everything inside the tower.

The cold room contained only a stone bed and a tattered thin blanket, which was clearly insufficient to cope with the cold, high-altitude climate of the Alps.

An old wizard, emaciated, toothless, and utterly frail, lay paralyzed on the stone bed, tightly wrapped in an old blanket, curled up in a ball—

But when Tyella entered this room, both the Tyella in Hogwarts, thousands of miles away, and the conceptualized Tyella in Nurmengard, simultaneously saw the same scene from a divine perspective—

This is a dark and empty room—

Or perhaps "palace" would be a more appropriate term.

The palace was grand and lofty, yet filled with shadows; darkness, like a curtain, draped and twisted down from above, throughout the palace.

At the end of the palace, atop layer upon layer of steps, stands a black iron throne that appears to be made of piled-up skulls.

On the throne sat a young man with shoulder-length blond hair. The man had a handsome and rugged face. His left elbow was resting on the armrest of the throne, and his hand was supporting his cheek. He seemed to be asleep.

The man was wearing a traditional wizard's robe, which was dark black with pale gold threads wrapped around it, engraved with intricate patterns, and adorned with ornate accessories.

As Tierra stepped into the room—

Whether it was the disheveled old man from the three-dimensional world or the handsome king from the divine dimension, they opened their eyes almost simultaneously, looked up at Tiera at the same time, and said simultaneously:
"Welcome, Tierra, or Experiment 147967. I think we'll have to meet eventually."

“You can call me the Dark Lord, or you can call me Gellert Grindelwald, but these names mean nothing to me now.”

"Or... you can call me Experiment Zero."

I'm really sorry everyone, I'm a bit busy today. There might only be one update today and tomorrow. I'll resume two updates on Monday.
