Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 3 Magical Blessing
Chapter 3 Magical Blessing
This library was carved out bit by bit from a black stone.
The stone itself is not very hard, but it is incredibly able to block the gaze of most of the Great Old Ones other than the Outer Gods.
Unless an active contact is made, the Outer God cannot affect any living beings inside the stone.
This is why the Great Race of Yith chose to build this library, containing knowledge of almost all the dangers in the universe, inside this stone.
According to Merlin's records, this stone belonged to another native race on Earth at that time, a kind of intelligent crustacean-like advanced life form similar to an upright crab. After the race of the Great Is discovered the wonders of this stone, the two sides jointly established this library.
However, because the original inhabitants of Earth at that time did not possess the extensive knowledge of the Great Is race, this joint museum was blessed with three magical blessings by the Great Is race.
One is called knowledge, and every intelligent being who visits this place can directly encounter knowledge through words.
There is something called time, and every intelligent being who has visited this place has the same number of opportunities as the fingers on one hand to avoid madness.
There is also something called sacred, which comes from the unique sublimation of the stone itself; no polluted spirit can enter this library.
These are three great spells that have never faded even after countless years of trials.
The reason for this design is...
Because the race possessed by the Great Race of Yith at that time had seven fingers, their allies, those upright crab-like shelled creatures, had pincers in their hands, which counted as two fingers, while their mortal enemies, the flying worms, had no fingers at all...
However, even so, the influence from the unspeakable cannot be completely eliminated.
Some exist independently of the fourth dimension, far exceeding the limits of human comprehension.
Merlin speculated that these two magical blessings might have been used by the Great Yith race to overcome research challenges.
Whenever a research project reaches a dead end, the Great Race of Yith sets up a ritual outside the library to make contact with a great being in the universe, most often an incarnation of Yog-Sothoth, one of the three pillars of the universe—Tavel At Umur.
This Outer God, representing the benevolent side of Yog-Sothoth, sits atop a colossal pedestal behind the first silver key gate of the ultimate abyss of the universe. He delights in bestowing endless knowledge upon any being that can pass through the silver key gate—
As long as they can withstand the weight of that knowledge.
When the researchers of the Great Race of Yith were driven mad by the incarnation of the One Who Reverts to Oneness and traveled back in time, a great deal of knowledge, which they could accept, would always remain in their souls.
Just like when Tiera was touched by the Outer God corresponding to the Seven Chapters of the Mysterious Lord, two magical imprints were left in his soul.
This magical blessing called "Time" can save you from anything except directly confronting Azathoth and the Three Pillars, or engaging in a reckless, passionate battle with other Outer Gods.
In the eyes of the brilliant minds of the Great Yith race, this ability was meant to help them further explore the truth of the world, not to save their lives from the Great Old Ones.
Unfortunately, Tierra squandered this opportunity.
However, Merlin was much more reckless than Tyella. Tyella, at least, came from modern society, had gone to university and taken the postgraduate entrance exam, and was well-versed in the Cthulhu Mythos, so she only wasted one opportunity.
Merlin lost three fingers right at the start of the game.
By the time he truly understood what all of this meant, it was too late.
This also led to Merlin, the famous archmage, suffering from extremely severe mental pollution from the Outer Gods in his later years, to the point that he seemed to have completely transformed into another person, another insane, cruel, and incomprehensible humanoid monster.
During his last moment of lucidity as Merlin, he wrote down the contents of the parchment that Tyrell now holds in her hand.
"A sage not belonging to this time and space, a traveler from another world, I foretold your arrival..." "I did my best to remain conscious and wrote down the following words..."
"Don't use up all five of your chances..."
"Do not attempt to contact the race of the Great Yith, at least not until you are on the same level as them..."
"You can choose the Supreme Mother Goddess..."
"If possible, please come find me. I have placed my coordinates on the fourth floor, on bookshelf number III. But please do not attempt this lightly before you have obtained the divine dimension."
"If I contact you first..."
"I'm hiding inside, hiding in the library, but I can't get in..."
After reading this passage, Tiera silently clasped her hands together.
I hope he's alright.
Don't contact me if you need anything.
Tierra then looked through a few more parchments, this time reading them from beginning to end instead of just the beginning.
Since Merlin predicted his arrival, given his mental state at the time, it's unlikely he would have left anything misleading in his notes.
At least from this point of view, he can read with peace of mind.
It must be said that a great magician's notes were of considerable help to a novice like him who was just getting started with magic. Merlin himself had grown from an illiterate farm boy into a great mage, and the notes covered almost everything from how to guide his magic power to the essence of magic.
Tiera stared at the parchment in her hand.
"Yujadili, Ur, Osalia," Tiera chanted in her mind as she gently unfolded the parchment with both hands.
The parchment seemed to pause in mid-air for a moment before drifting down.
This is the levitation spell recorded in Merlin's diary, the simplest and most suitable spell for beginners to draw out their own magic power.
Although Tiera had successfully cast the Cursed Worm before, the Cursed Worm was an instinct engraved on the soul by the Outer God. Before he learned to guide his own magic, the power of the Cursed Worm came from his mental power, rather than from his own magic.
Therefore, he still needs a simple spell to draw out his own magical power.
“Yujadili, Ur, Osalia.” This time, Tiera read it aloud.
The parchment in his hand seemed to be trying to break free, but it still fell down after Thieves pulled his hand.
……
"Yujadili, Ur, Osalia." After about forty or fifty attempts, the parchment in Tiera's hand finally floated shakily in mid-air.
However, after a dozen seconds, the parchment still fell down quickly.
Tierra felt a chill run through her body and collapsed into her chair as if she were completely exhausted.
