Chapter 272 The Pleasure Thief
Chapter 272 The Pleasure Thief
“What is this?” Harry asked.
“This is another magical artifact I crafted,” Tiera said. “It has the same function as these binoculars.”
In fact, this was the "Dementor's Eye" that Tiera herself had crafted, but because it was too cold, Tiera had to use Transfiguration to turn it into a monocle and hang it on her right eye.
“Okay, three then,” Harry said.
“Thank you, Harry,” Hermione said. “I’ve come to buy everyone a copy of the tournament guide; look, it’s over there—”
"Then I'll buy some candy," Tierra said, pulling out a handful of Galleons. He had made a fortune and hadn't had any major expenses lately, so Tierra didn't mind giving back to his classmates.
“It’s over there. I’m sure none of you had a good lunch today,” Tierra said.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione all nodded.
After their money bags were mostly empty, they returned to their tents.
Bill, Charlie, and Ginny also bought green sports badges, and Mr. Weasley held up an Irish flag.
Fred and George received no souvenirs; they gave all the gold coins to Bagman.
At this time, a deep and deep gong sound came from somewhere far away in the woods. Immediately, thousands of red and green lanterns bloomed on the trees, lighting up the road leading to the arena.
"It's about time!" said Mr. Weasley, looking as excited as everyone else. "Come on, let's go."
Mr. Weasley led the way, and everyone, clutching their purchases, hurried into the woods along the lantern-lit path. They could hear hundreds of people moving around them, shouts, laughter, and intermittent singing.
They walked through the woods for twenty minutes, laughing and joking loudly, until they emerged from the other side of the trees and found themselves in the shadow of a massive stadium. Harry could only see a portion of the magnificent golden walls surrounding the stadium, but he could tell that it could easily fit ten cathedrals inside.
“It can hold 100,000 spectators,” Mr. Weasley said, noticing the astonished look on Harry’s face. “Five hundred staff members from the Ministry of Magic have been working on this for a whole year. Every inch of this place is enchanted with a Muggle-repelling charm. Throughout the year, whenever a Muggle approaches, they suddenly remember something extremely urgent and hurriedly leave…”
Honestly, Tierra was also shocked.
The largest stadium he had ever seen in his previous life was the Bird's Nest, but even the Bird's Nest in his memory, except for the opening ceremony, was far less grand and spectacular than this stadium.
Mr. Weasley led everyone to the nearest entrance, where a large group of shouting wizards had already gathered—
As she passed the group of wizards, Tierra adjusted her monocle—
A chilling suction force instantly enveloped the group of shouting wizards, centered on the monocle.
When the chilling suction dissipated, the group of wizards suddenly calmed down, standing there with bewildered expressions, as if they had no idea why they had just made such a humiliating shouting.
In the brief moment she passed by, Tiera used the "Dementor's Eye" to absorb their joyful emotions, temporarily storing them in the "Heaven" dimension, intending to use them to create dark magic items.
After all, black magic is a combination of emotional power and spiritual power.
If pain and fear are acceptable, then happiness is certainly acceptable as well.
This is also the third reason why Tierra came to participate in the Quidditch World Cup—
This place is practically a huge raw material extraction site.
Tiera, who possesses the "Dementor's Eye," can easily capture this joyful emotion.
"First class," said the Ministry witch at the entrance, looking at their tickets. "Top box! Go straight up, Arthur, to the very top."
The stairs leading to the stadium were carpeted in crimson. They climbed the stairs with the crowd, who slowly dispersed into the stands on either side. Mr. Weasley's group continued upwards until they reached the top of the stairs.
They found themselves in a small VIP box, located at the highest point of the stadium, directly opposite the golden goalposts. There were about twenty purple and gold-plated chairs arranged in two rows.
Tierra and Harry looked down—
One hundred thousand wizards were taking their seats one after another, the seats arranged in a stepped pattern around the oval stadium.
Everything here is shrouded in a mysterious golden light, as if the light comes from the stadium itself.
From their elevated position, the field appeared as smooth and flat as velvet.
On either side of the court stood three basketball hoops, each fifty feet high. To their right, almost at Harry's eye level, was a huge blackboard with gold lettering flashing across it, as if an invisible giant hand were writing and erasing the words.
Harry looked closely at the text and realized that the flashing words were advertisements for the stadium audience:
Cornflower: A flying broom suitable for the whole family—safe, reliable, and with a built-in anti-theft buzzer…
Mrs. Skoll's All-Purpose Stain Remover: Effortlessly removes stains! ...Elegant Wizard Robes—London, Paris, Hogsmeade...
Harry awkwardly looked away from the billboard and turned his head to see who else was sitting in the box with them.
Just then, Harry heard a gasp.
Tyrell, standing next to Harry, was looking down over the railing, then suddenly—
“Oh no!” Tyella cried out.
"What's wrong? What's wrong?" Harry was startled and quickly grabbed Tyella around the waist, pulling him back from the railing—
At the same time, Harry stumbled backward, causing Tyella to fall directly onto him.
"Oh no!" Tyella cried out in a feigned wail as she finally got off Harry. "My monocle! It fell off!"
Harry stood up too and looked down—
However, Harry couldn't see anything.
“Don’t worry, Tierra,” Harry reassured her. “We can share a telescope.”
“The telescope has two tubes,” Harry said. “We can each have one tube, and if we get close enough, we can share it.”
……
At the same time, Tierra's monocle stopped falling and hovered in mid-air.
The monocle looked left and right, and finally, with a "whoosh," it flew towards a group of Irish fans at the bottom of the stadium, a cold, sinister suction force enveloping them.
Gradually, as the group of Irish fans quieted down, the monocle trembled and flew towards another group of fans, its chilling suction enveloping the area once more.
