Chapter 269 Diggory

“Amos!” said Mr. Weasley, laughing as he strode toward the man who had called him.

The others exchanged glances and followed.

Mr. Weasley was shaking hands with a red-faced wizard with a short brown beard, who held something in his other hand that looked like a moldy old boot.

“Let me introduce you all. This is Amos Diggory,” said Mr. Weasley. “He works in the Department of Magical Creatures Control. He also handles his son, Cedric. I think you all know him, right?”

Cedric Diggory was about seventeen years old. He was a very handsome brown-haired boy, tall and thin, with two patches of red on his face like his father's.

At Hogwarts, he was the captain and Seeker of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team.

"Hi, everyone," Cedric said, greeting everyone warmly.

Everyone responded with a "Hi," but Fred and George remained silent, only nodding.

Last year, Cedric defeated their Gryffindor team in their first Quidditch match, and the twins still haven't fully forgiven him.

"Is that a long way to come, Arthur?" asked Cedric's father.

“It’s alright,” said Mr. Weasley. “We live on the other side of the village. What about you?”

“He got up at two o’clock, didn’t he, Ced? To be honest, I really wish he could pass the Apparition test sooner. But… there’s nothing to complain about… it’s the Quidditch World Cup, you can’t miss it, even if it costs a whole bag of Galleons. Actually, the tickets did cost that much. But I managed to get through it, it wasn’t too difficult…” Amos Diggory looked kindly at the three Weasley brothers around him, Tyella, Harry, Hermione, and Ginny. “Arthur, are these all your children?”

“Oh no, the redhead is the one.” Mr. Weasley pointed out each of his children. “This is Hermione, Ron’s friend, this is Harry, and this is Tyella, also Ron’s friend.”

“Oh my God,” said Amos Diggory, his eyes widening in surprise. “Harry? Harry Potter?”

“Um…yes, yes…” Harry said.

Harry was used to people staring at him curiously when they first met him, and to them immediately looking at the scar on his forehead, but it always made him feel very uncomfortable.

“Of course, Ced talked about you,” Amos Diggory said. “He told us about his match against you last year… I told him, ‘Ced, this is something you can tell your grandchildren when you’re old, it’s amazing… You beat Harry Potter!’”

Harry didn't know how to answer, so he said nothing. Fred and George both frowned again.

Cedric also seemed a little embarrassed.

“Harry fell off the broom… Dad…” Cedric muttered softly, “I told you… it was an accident…”

“Yes, but you didn’t fall, did you?” Amos said affectionately, patting his son on the back. “Our Seid is always so humble, always such a gentleman… but the winner is always the best, and I’m sure Harry would say the same, wouldn’t he? One fell off the broom, the other stayed firmly on top. You don’t need a genius’s brain to tell who the better pilot is!”

“Hey, Mr. Diggory,” Tierra said at this moment.

“Hmm, what’s wrong, hmm… hmm…” Cedric’s father looked at Tierra, but clearly didn’t quite remember her name.

“You can just call me Tierra,” Tierra said.

“Oh, hello, little Tierra,” Mr. Diggory said. “Aha, I remember now! Cedric mentioned you to me, you’re that very famous little prophet, aren’t you? Last… I think it was when Cedric was in fifth grade that you predicted a very serious attack!”

“Yes, it is I,” Tiera said with a smile.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Cedric’s father also bent down and shook hands with Thiera.

“Mr. Diggory, you must be very proud of your son, right?” Tierra asked after shaking hands.

“Of course,” Amosdigor said with a smile, then patted Cedric’s hair.

“Sigh…” Tiera sighed deeply, shook her head, and then stared at Cedric with an ethereal gaze, as if he were looking at a dead man. Cedric felt a chill run down his spine.

“Sigh…” Then Tiera sighed again and looked at Cedric’s father with a sad look in her eyes.

"Sigh..." Then Tiera silently withdrew her gaze and muttered to herself, "What a pity, what a pity, what a pity..."

Cedric: ...

Amosdigori: ...

Tierra's words and actions clearly frightened the Diggory father and son.

This made their subsequent journey much quieter.

They did not exchange another word until they parted ways with the Diggory father and son.

Using the tattered boot as a key, they arrived directly at the Quidditch camp.

We walked through the deserted swamp, and could hardly see anything in the thick fog.

After walking for about twenty minutes, a door gradually appeared in front of us, followed by a small stone house. Behind the stone house were hundreds of oddly shaped tents that stretched up the gentle slope of a large area that led to a dark forest on the horizon.

Then they said goodbye to Diggory and his son and walked toward the door of the stone house.

“You’re a genius!” Fred Weasley said. “To think of something to scare them like that.”

The others nodded in agreement; clearly, they, like Fred and George, were getting impatient with Amos Diggory's words.

"But will Diggory be alright?" Mr. Weasley asked with some concern.

“Oh, no, it’s nothing serious,” Tierra said. “It’s just that he might die young.”

Mr. Weasley: ...

"You...you're joking, right?" Arthur Weasley asked uncertainly.

“Of course.” Tiera smiled and then shrugged. “But who knows? After all, this is a fickle world, and who knows when someone might die young.”

Mr. Weasley: ...

“Never mind, forget I asked,” Mr. Weasley said. “Never mind, let’s go buy our tent.”

Then Weasley led everyone into the stone house.

After buying the tent, they came to the edge of the woods at the end of the camp. There was a clearing with a small sign on the ground that read: Wezley.

“This place couldn’t be better!” Mr. Weasley exclaimed happily. “The grounds are just over there in the forest, so close it couldn’t be closer.”

“Alright,” he said excitedly. “Strictly speaking, no magic is allowed. Now that so many of us are on Muggle soil, we’re going to set up the tent with our own hands! It shouldn’t be too hard… Muggles always do it this way… By the way, Harry, and Tyella, where should we begin?”

“First of all, Mr. Weasley,” Tierra said, “I think you should take the tent off your shoulders first.”

"Oh, right, right, right," Arthur Weasley said sheepishly.
