Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 236 Taking a Risky Move
Chapter 236 Taking a Risky Move
I just realized that the last sentence of the previous chapter seems a bit ambiguous, so I've made a slight change. The blood oath should have been said by Grindelwald in Dumbledore's memory, not by the protagonist. The protagonist only wants Dumbledore's blood and the Gryffindor sword.
—————————Dividing line————————
On the eve of the Divination exam, Tyrell emerged from Dumbledore's office with a calm and collected expression, holding a sword and a small vial of blood in her hand.
But as Tierra turned a deserted corner, the expression on his face changed to one of uncontrollable ecstasy—
Tiera never expected it to succeed—
He just wanted to give it a try; after all, it didn't cost anything to try, and if it failed, he had other alternatives. But Dumbledore agreed.
The process, while not exactly tortuous, was certainly not easy. For some reason, when Tyrell proposed borrowing the Gryffindor sword and Dumbledore's blood, Dumbledore paused for a moment, then asked—
"I can perhaps understand why you need the sword of Gryffindor, but what do you want with my blood?"
There is a play!
When Dumbledore didn't directly refuse, Tyella knew there was hope.
“Headmaster Dumbledore,” Tyella said calmly, “the key to defeating Voldemort is not just finding the Horcrux, but destroying it, isn’t it?”
"..." Dumbledore was silent for a moment, then a glint of light flashed in his eyes. "So you know, you know about Horcruxes?"
“Of course,” Tyella said. “If you can lend me the sword of Gryffindor and a vial of your blood, I can tell you about several Horcruxes and what they are, all of which I have seen in my prophecies.”
Dumbledore glanced at Tyrell silently, then stood up, took the Gryffindor sword from the glass cabinet next to his desk, and placed it in front of Tyrell.
Then Dumbledore waved his hand again, retrieved a test tube from the laboratory table in the center of the office, filled it halfway with blood, and handed it to Tyella—
"Tell me, what's your plan?"
“I’m sorry I can’t tell you my plans for now,” Tierra said. “Such an act of defiance against fate can never be accomplished if it’s spoken aloud, can it?”
“Then let’s talk about something else,” Dumbledore sighed helplessly. “Talk about Horcruxes, and how to destroy them.”
“There are seven Horcruxes in total, Headmaster Dumbledore,” Tierra said.
"Seven?" Dumbledore seemed surprised as well. "How...how could there be seven? What are they?"
“Last year, the Ravenclaw tiara was destroyed, and… the Slytherin pendant, the Hefpatch chalice, Tom Riddle’s diary, Tom’s mother’s ring, and a Horcrux that’s still not finished at this point in time, a living Horcrux, the snake Nagini,” Tierra said.
Of course, two of them have been destroyed.
"..." Dumbledore seemed shocked; the information Tyrell had just given him was so specific that it seemed unbelievable to him.
"You said Voldemort had seven Horcruxes... but you only mentioned six," Dumbledore pressed. "Where's the last one?"
“You should have guessed it long ago.” With that, Tiera raised her right hand and drew a lightning bolt on her forehead.
“Harry…” Dumbledore sighed helplessly, “Then what about your plan…”
“I’m trying to find a way to kill the Voldemort fragment inside Harry without harming him, or to limit the harm to Harry to a manageable level,” Tierra said.
“But what does that have to do with my blood and Gryffindor’s sword?” Dumbledore asked.
“I cannot say,” Tiera replied firmly.
He hadn't actually finished writing it yet.
Dumbledore sighed helplessly, and after several more unsuccessful attempts to subtly inquire, he told Tyrell to go back to sleep, citing the late hour.
After Tyrell left, Dumbledore pondered for a moment, then looked up at Fawkes, the phoenix who was standing on the perch, preening his feathers, and said:
"Could you keep an eye out for our little Tierra for me?"
"Ah—" Phoenix Fox replied, then transformed into a streak of fire and vanished in mid-air—
But not long after, Fawkes reappeared in Dumbledore's office—
“Ah, ahh!” Fox said.
"What? He's disappeared?" Dumbledore jumped to his feet. "Are you sure? Can you be sure?"
“Ah—” Fox said.
“So it’s true.” Dumbledore slowly sat back down. “Even you can’t find her, which means there really is something wrong with Tyella…”
“I really am getting old…” Dumbledore slowly sat down and said, “I can’t even see through a child like this… What is Tyrell trying to do? What is his purpose? And what role does he play in all of this?”
“I can’t see through him… Fawkes, I can’t see through him…” Dumbledore sighed and said, “Tyella…what does he want? What does he have?”
After leaving Dumbledore's office, Tyella ran a few steps, then pushed open a portal of light, appearing directly inside her Gryffindor dormitory.
Tyrell never imagined that the so-called "truth" she revealed at the end of last semester under the guise of "Giddy Lohart" could deceive Dumbledore. With Dumbledore's cunning and shrewdness, it was only a matter of time before he saw through Tyrell's disguise.
Lies are smokescreens, not invisibility cloaks.
Tyrell knew very well that Dumbledore didn't believe his lie; to be precise, Dumbledore couldn't find a more reasonable explanation than believing the lie.
While Gilderoy Lockhart's account has flaws, if we completely disregard it, the truth behind the whole affair reveals a chillingly sinister aura.
Humans are naturally inclined to seek advantage and avoid harm, and Dumbledore was no exception. Therefore, he could only temporarily believe Gilderoy Lockhart's story.
Even if the loopholes are huge, he can only accept them with a guilty conscience.
Because if Dumbledore believes Tyrell was responsible, it would mean that a child under twelve years old orchestrated such a vast, evil, and mysterious conspiracy. A child shouldn't do such a thing; an age when beautiful flowers should be blooming shouldn't be blossoming into a poppy.
Even at the age of eleven or twelve, Tom Riddle could not have devised such a grand and meticulously planned scheme—
This is a distortion of humanity, a desecration of all innocence and beauty in the world, and a subversion and shattering of Dumbledore's own values.
Dumbledore's values, perceptions, and moral compass instinctively led him to believe that it all stemmed from a conspiracy by Gilderoy Lockhart and Voldemort; he preferred to believe that Tyrell was merely a victim.
This is human nature, this is Dumbledore's human nature. His sister died at the most vibrant and beautiful age, and from then on, in Dumbledore's eyes, all children became Ariana.
Therefore, Tierra needs to throw an even bigger smoke bomb at Dumbledore before this smoke bomb disappears, completely confusing him.
Dumbledore is not Voldemort, much less Grindelwald; he would not convict or harm someone simply because of suspicion.
His moral integrity was his Achilles' heel, his shackles, and also the protective shield that allowed Tierra to escape time and time again.
However, it cannot be denied that Tiera's actions just now were still a risky move.
To be precise, from the moment he asked Dumbledore for the Gryffindor sword and blood, every step afterward would be a risky gamble.
But Tiera had no choice. In any other situation, Tiera wouldn't act unless she was 90% certain, but when faced with this—
Even a 50% certainty would be enough to make Tiera flock to it.
Dumbledore's blood and Gryffindor's sword are the optimal choices for Tyrell's next plan. This optimal choice will greatly increase the success rate of Tyrell's next plan. For even the slightest chance of success, Tyrell is willing to risk complete exposure—
Tiera strode forward with firm steps, reaching out and pushing open a portal of light—
One second Tyrell was on the third-floor corridor of Hogwarts, but the next second, she was already inside her bedroom.
Everyone else in the dorm is currently studying or discussing tomorrow's divination exam in the common room, while only a big, seemingly silly black dog is lying on the floor tiles by the dorm entrance, enjoying the cool air.
Tierra picked up a suitcase that had been prepared beforehand from beside her bed, then strode to the door and gave Sirius Black a hard kick.
"Awooo..." Sirius let out a mournful howl—
“Listen, Sirius,” Tyella said, pulling on his dog’s ear. “If you want to catch Peter Pettigrew, tomorrow night, after seven o’clock, be on that patch of grass next to the Whomping Willow. This is your last chance.”
Before Sirius could even react—
Tierra disappeared from the dormitory again, leaving Sirius Black standing there, completely bewildered.
The next second, Tiera appeared outside the hut next to Hagrid's Forbidden Forest—
Tyella was certain that Dumbledore had sent a stalker behind him, and it was very likely that it would be the phoenix named Fawkes.
Therefore, all of Tierra's actions at Hogwarts must be swift, and everything must be completed before Fawkes the Phoenix sets off or even realizes what's happening.
Tiera pulled a skinny mouse, missing a finger, from her suitcase and threw it with all her might—
The old mouse broke through the window of Hagrid's hut and fell inside.
Tiera ignored the commotion inside, pushed open a portal of light, stepped into Azkaban, and from there, through Merlin's ring, entered a library in another world—
Dobby was sitting obediently in the chair in the center of the library, just as Tiera had instructed. Upon seeing Tiera appear, Dobby immediately stood up, looking at Tiera nervously, as if awaiting his command.
“Dobby,” Tierra said, tossing Dobby a black cloth and Dumbledore’s vial of blood. “Keep the blood safe, then use this cloth to cover that book—”
Tiera pointed to the third book on the first shelf of the library—
"Wrap that book—yes, that old book bound in cotton thread—in a black cloth. Yes, don't touch it with your hands, just wrap it in the black cloth, and then come with me—"
With that, Tyrell placed the suitcase in the library, picked up the Gryffindor sword, and led Dobby out of the library.
The "Parasite" and the "Inheritor" flew out of the briefcase automatically and followed behind Tiera.
