Chapter 117 Whispers of Emotions

Chapter 117 Whispers of Emotions

Tom Riddle didn't directly tell Tyella the address of the secret chamber, but instead—

“Oh, little Tierra, winter is already approaching,” Tom Riddle said. “The pet I’m going to introduce you to—it’s a basilisk—is already preparing for hibernation. If you wake it now, it’ll probably go completely out of control—and then I won’t be able to handle it—”

“But the book doesn’t say that basilisks also need to hibernate!” Tiera retorted.

[That damned mudblood—how dare he talk back to me!]

“Not everything in books is true,” Tom Riddle argued. “There hasn’t been a basilisk in England for over four hundred years, so what could they possibly know?”

“The basilisk also needs to hibernate!” Tom Riddle said. “If we go there rashly—we might anger the basilisk and kill us all!”

“Okay—” Tiera said as she walked back towards the library.

"Good morning, Mrs. Pince," Tierra greeted the librarian politely.

"Hello, little Tierra," Mrs. Pince said, pinching Tierra's little cheek.

“Mrs. Pince, could you please give me a library card?” Tierra asked. “I would like to borrow a book from the restricted section—”

"A forbidden book!" Mrs. Pince suddenly became alert. "Why do you need to borrow a forbidden book? Which forbidden book do you want to borrow?"

"The Magical Experiments on Muggles and Mudbloods" by Tierra
He said, "I'm going to write a paper about the harm that medieval dark wizards did to Muggles and Muggle species, and I'd like to ask Professor Lockhart to review it."

“If I could publish a paper while I was still in school—” Tiella added, “I think it would definitely have a very positive effect on my work after graduation.”

“Alright.” Mrs. Pince’s expression softened slightly as she took an application form from the drawer—

After filling it out, hand it to Tiera.

"Only Professor Lockhart is allowed to sign this!" Mrs. Pince added, in case Tyrell used the book for other purposes—

“Yes, Mrs. Pince.” With that, Tierra quickly took the library slip and returned to her room.

In the original book, Hermione borrowed "The Powerful Potion" from the restricted section in this way.

Ever since that disaster involving the elves, Professor Lockhart has never brought any living creatures into the classroom again.

Now, he reads long passages from his books to his students, and sometimes even performs dramatic scenes.

He usually chooses Harry to help him recreate the scene.

In this week's Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Harry was dragged to the front again, this time to play a werewolf.

“Well said, Harry! So true, and then, believe it or not, I pounced on him—like this—and slammed him to the ground—like this—I pinned him to the ground with one hand—and with my wand in the other, against his throat—and then I caught my breath and, with the last of my strength, cast a very complicated humanoid spell—he let out a pitiful groan—Harry, and then cried out—higher still—good—his fur disappeared—his fangs retracted—and he was human again,” Lockhart said.

“Simple and effective, another village will forever remember me as a hero for freeing them from the monthly terror of werewolf attacks,” Lockhart said proudly.

“Professor Lockhart!” Suddenly a student raised his hand.

"Please speak, Mr. Gideon."

“You’re lying!” Gideon, a short boy from Hufflepuff, stood up and exclaimed excitedly, “I asked our Headmistress, and werewolves can’t turn back into humans forever.”

"There's no way any complicated humanoid spell can solve the werewolf problem!" Gideon said angrily. "Right now, only the wolfsbane potion can keep a wizard sane when he transforms into a werewolf. There's no other way to solve the werewolf transformation problem!"

“Oh, listen, Mr. Gideon—” Lockhart protested, “the Humanoid Charm is a spell I invented—it can—can turn all werewolves back into normal wizards—”

“Then why are there still so many werewolves?” Gideon retorted.

“According to you, your ideal is to eliminate injustice in the world—” Gideon said, “If you had actually invented this spell—it would have helped the Ministry of Magic solve the werewolf problem! But you didn’t.”

"So you're either a liar or a despicable person—" Gideon said mercilessly, "and maybe your books are all plagiarized!"

After Gideon finished speaking, the entire classroom fell silent! Tyella quietly put away the wand she was holding in her right hand—

Gilderoy Lockhart's face turned ashen; this was the first time he had lost his prized composure in front of everyone.

"You're slandering me!" Gilderoy Lockhart roared—and Gideon, the short, chubby Hufflepuff boy, seemed to suddenly snap out of his daze, looking completely bewildered, and burst into tears from the shock of Gilderoy Lockhart's shout—

Ever since Gilderoy Lockhart made a fool of himself on his first day of school, Tiera, while using her "prophetic abilities" to expand her influence, has been simultaneously badmouthing Gilderoy Lockhart.

Of course, he certainly wouldn't say it directly, but rather—

For example, when he is unable to obtain someone's prophecy and returns the Galleons, Tiera will say:

“Ah, if only Professor Lockhart were as amazing as he writes in his book—” Tyella said casually, “that way my prophecy wouldn’t come true.”

Or—

"Ah, if only Professor Lockhart's books weren't plagiarized—even if just one of them was based on his own personal experience—" Then, when someone looked at Tiera, she would immediately shut up and warily survey her surroundings—

With Tiera's subtle hints—coupled with Gilderoy Lockhart's increasingly poor teaching style—more and more people began to doubt Lockhart's true abilities.

At first it was the older students, but now, gradually, even the younger students are starting to have doubts.

Like the little Hufflepuff boy who publicly questioned Gilderoy Lockhart in class today, he was a boy with a strong sense of justice, and also the first young wizard in his class to question Gilderoy Lockhart—

I was just hit by a simple spell from the Necronomicon.

"Whispers of Emotion"

It can be modified to intensify certain emotions within the recipient.

Originally, it was a technique used in black magic master-disciple transmission to help the disciple quickly master the power of emotions.

Here, Tiera adds a touch of anger to Gideon's character—

This immediately ignited Gideon's inner doubts and sense of justice.

"This is simply, utterly unreasonable accusation!" Gilderoy Lockhart was still shouting from the podium—

"I don't know where you're from—"

But the bell rang, interrupting Gilderoy Lockhart's incoherent explanation.

“You can leave now—” Gilderoy Lockhart said coldly, “You are truly the worst class of students I have ever seen!”

The other young wizards filed out, and Gideon's friend pulled him along, dragging him out of the classroom as well.

"Tierra, you—" Harry saw that Tierra was still sitting in her original seat—

“You go ahead, Harry.” Tyrell slowly packed her things. “I have something to ask Professor Lockhart.”

“Then I’ll stay with you—” Harry was about to sit back down—

But Tiera pushed her away—

“No need, go back quickly. We’ll meet at the Quidditch field in a bit,” Tierra said. “I’ll come watch your Quidditch practice later.”

“Oh, okay!” Harry turned and left cheerfully, leaving only Tyella and Gilderoy Lockhart in the classroom.

"What brings you here?" Gilderoy looked at him warily.

He's in a terrible mood right now.

This is the third student to question him since the beginning of October—two upperclassmen, and now even a second-year wizard dares to question him.

“Professor Lockhart,” Tierra said, pulling out the borrowing slip, “I’d like to borrow a book from the restricted section—would you mind—”

“Oh, no problem—” Gilderoy Lockhart’s expression softened considerably, and he put on his smile again, snatching the borrowing slip from Tiera’s hand.
