Chapter 683 What Horror Novel Are You Reading in the Middle of the Night?

The two quickly left the area and found a parked truck in the dark.

The truck, about three meters tall, was parked next to a supermarket, and the women hid behind it, studying the Polaroid camera and photos.

Lemon Doesn't Sour didn't hang the Polaroid camera around her neck; instead, she put it in her coat pocket.

Her coat pockets were large enough to fit a Polaroid camera perfectly.

"Is it really okay to carry this photo with me?" Lemon didn't feel sour. She touched the Polaroid camera in her pocket, then looked up at the photo in Su Lian's hand, feeling a chill in her heart.

She was a little worried that the ghosts would find them through the photos.

“This photo is very important.” Su Lian looked at the blurry bowl in the middle of the photo. “Jin Ye Bai died after taking this photo. When he took the photo, he must have seen a ghost eating.”

“They must have thought that taking pictures of ghosts was the way out,” she continued. “But after the ghosts were photographed, they weren’t sealed away by the photos as they had hoped; instead, they immediately killed Tonight White.”

“Photographs can’t control ghosts. So I guess their only function is to make ghosts appear.” Su Lian suddenly shoved the photograph in her hand into Lemon Not Sour’s hand.

Lemon wasn't sour when a photo was suddenly handed to her, leaving her a little bewildered.

"They're just tools to make ghosts appear?" she thought, considering the ghost's actions in the group photo. "So even if the photo is destroyed, it won't affect the ghost, right?"

Before Lemon Isn't Sour, she had a guess: she thought the ghost's appearance might be because they burned the photos. They burned the cage that was trapping the ghost, thus releasing it.

But Su Lian told her that wasn't the case.

“I think these photos are dispensable to ghosts. They are neither seals to trap ghosts nor weapons to kill them. They are just photos that can make ghosts take shape.” Su Lian’s tone suddenly became urgent.

Lemon didn't frown and thought. Just as she was about to ask something else, she was suddenly shoved by the person in front of her.

She staggered back a few steps, looking at Su Lian, who had suddenly pushed her, with a puzzled expression.

Then, she saw the person in front of her open their mouth: "Run!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than Lemon Not Sour heard a very faint crawling sound.

It came from under the car!
She opened her eyes wide to see where the sound was coming from.

From the dark gaps under the car, a withered hand emerged and tightly gripped Su Lian's ankle.

Lemon didn't feel sour. She opened her mouth wide and reached out to pull Su Lian away from that hand.

Before she could grab the other person, the withered hand suddenly exerted force, dragging the bespectacled female player in front of her under the car.

The world fell silent once again.

Lemon Not Sour paused for a moment, then clutched the photo and turned to run away.

Another one died...

Another one died...

She ran wildly, filled with immense fear, tears welling up in her eyes.

Three people have died in front of her... There are already three.

She dared not imagine how many more players had died in places beyond her sight.

She could only run forward desperately, running out of the ghost's sight.

The sky was beginning to lighten, and the sun was about to rise.

There were some pedestrians on the roadside, mostly breakfast vendors.

They all looked at Lemon Not Sour with strange eyes as it ran away.

Wen Qin and Hao Laoshi were hiding inside a two-meter-tall dinosaur model at the entrance of a children's amusement park.

The dinosaur model was hollow, and there was a broken door on the side of the dinosaur, which the two of them easily slipped inside.

But the space is a bit cramped.

"We're hiding here, no ghost would ever guess, right?" Hao Laoshi cautiously peered outside through the gaps in the dinosaur's body.

“Not necessarily,” Wen Qin said, still uneasy. “Sometimes these ghosts are like they have GPS navigation; no matter how well you hide, they can find you.”

“But ghosts often just brush past us when they’re looking for us,” Hao Laoshi whispered. “I often see ghosts pass right in front of me when I’m hiding.” “That’s because you’re lucky,” Wen Qin Tanjiu said, also peering out through the gap in the dinosaur's shell.

“Hiding like this isn’t a solution,” Wen Qin sighed. “We must find a way to survive as soon as possible.”

"Let's rest for a while." Hao Laoshi leaned against the inner wall of the dinosaur. "I've been riding my bike all night, and my legs are weak. If I encounter a ghost again, I probably won't be able to run fast."

Wen Qin's talk about wine wasn't much better.

He was also attacked by a ghost, and his lower back has been aching ever since.

The area that was dug by the ghost is now a dark bluish-black circle, looking quite terrifying.

"Wait until dawn." He looked through the crack at the gradually brightening sky. "Once it's fully light, we'll go find the others."

Split actions are no longer feasible; now we can only rely on the strength of numbers.

While resting inside the dinosaur model, Wen Qin began to think quickly.

Ghosts are invisible; they can only appear in photographs.

But taking photos cannot control ghosts.

Do ghosts really appear by crawling out of photographs?
Just as he was thinking, a series of hurried footsteps suddenly came from afar.

Hao Laoshi, who was leaning against the inner wall of the dinosaur, suddenly stood up straight, silently turned his head and leaned closer to the gap to see the direction from which the sound came.

Wen Qin stopped thinking and nervously looked outside, afraid that the sound was coming from a ghost.

A few seconds later, a familiar figure appeared in their sight.

It's a lemon, not sour!
They saw the other person running quickly towards them, then swiftly past their hiding place and continuing forward.

The two people inside the dinosaur looked at each other, neither of them saying a word for a moment.

A lemon that isn't sour is obviously being chased by a ghost.

They dared not act rashly.

The two hid silently inside the dinosaur model for a few more minutes, making sure no other sounds were coming their way, before daring to speak.

Hao Laoshi looked hesitantly in the direction Lemon Not Sour had left: "She must have encountered a ghost."

Wen Qin frowned as she drank: "Yu Ji wasn't with her; she's probably dead..."

Hao Laoshi, holding onto the inner wall of the dinosaur, said, "Should we go out and follow her? She shouldn't have gone very far."

Wen Qintang made sure there were no other sounds around before nodding and saying, "Let's go outside."

Lemon Not Sour ran for several minutes straight until the truck behind him was no longer in sight before he stopped.

She stopped in front of a clothing store with a sign that read "Available for Sale," leaning against the glass door and panting heavily.

But before she could recover, she heard footsteps behind her.

Lemon Not Sour suddenly turned around and saw Wen Qin Tanjiu and Hao Laoshi running towards them.

Upon seeing the two, Lemon almost burst into tears of joy.

It's so great to be able to see other living people!
"Why...why did you come back?" she asked the two people in front of her, feeling relieved.

Upon seeing the corpse of Jin Yebai and the empty bowl not far from it, she knew that these people had returned.

"We were trapped in a ghost wall. We didn't originally intend to come back; the ghosts forcibly brought us back." Wen Qin's expression was not good. "And you? Did you also come back because of a ghost wall?"

Lemon Not Sour had no idea about being trapped in a maze of ghosts. She shook her head in confusion: "No, I didn't encounter anything like that... I walked back on my own. Yu Ji was killed right in front of me, and that's how I discovered that ghosts are invisible."

“I think only a Polaroid camera can capture the ghost’s form, and the way out must be related to the Polaroid camera, so I wanted to come back to find you.”

Wen Qin's expression darkened as she spoke: "No, Polaroid cameras don't work; we've already tried them."

“I know…” Lemon Doesn’t Sour took out a Polaroid camera from his coat pocket, “I’ve seen Tonight White’s corpse.”
