Chapter 33 Tomorrow is February

Chapter 33 Tomorrow is February

Five people sat down at a table in a restaurant.

Yuwen Hao's gaze was almost entirely drawn to Gu Mian, because this doctor was the most unique among all the players.

Not only is his appearance unique, but his attitude towards this instance is also very strange.

"Are you... a doctor?" Yuwen Hao asked after hesitating for a moment.

Gu Mian shifted her gaze from the menu to his face: "You could say that now, at least before the game started."

Yuwen Hao was very young, looking no more than twenty-five or twenty-six years old. He had an ordinary appearance, like a young man who had just entered society a few years ago.

However, he was more mature and composed than his peers. Although his expression was a little strange, he was still able to introduce Gu Mian in an orderly manner.

"Then let me introduce myself to you, doctor..."

It's really strange," Yuwen Hao said, his heart pounding. This doctor is clearly younger than me, but why do I have this feeling of seeing an elder when I see him?

"This is Lin Yue'er, and she's a college student." Yuwen Hao looked at the only female player among the five.

Lin Yue'er, true to her name, was a very petite girl. She wore glasses, was shy and timid, and seemed not very good at communicating with people. She was avoiding the gazes of others.

“Over there, the slightly chubby man sitting next to Lin Yue’er is Golden Wings.”

Gu Mian followed Yuwen Hao's gaze.

Next to Lin Yue'er sat a slightly overweight man who looked older than Yuwen Hao. He was wearing a dark brown oversized sweater and had messy hair, as if he hadn't left the house in a long time.

Golden Wings smiled somewhat embarrassedly: "I...I'm a bit of a homebody."

See it.

Yuwen Hao then proceeded to introduce the next person.

"The male student next to Mr. Huang, the fair-skinned and thin one, has just graduated not long ago. He's a Chinese literature major. His name is Qinghuan."

Gu Mian tilted her head slightly.

It's clear that Qinghuan is an artistic young man, refined and cultured, exuding an air of scholarly elegance at first glance.

Qing Huan looked up at Gu Mian and gave her a polite smile. His face was pale, seemingly due to fear.

Gu Mian now knows the other four people.

Now that he had figured out everyone else, it was time to introduce himself.

"Hello everyone," Gu Mian began, "My name is Gu Mian, and I can barely be considered a doctor. You can call me Dr. Gu."

As he spoke, he dragged a large package that was leaning against the chair over: "I'm also a doctor who loves music, and this is my guitar."

Upon hearing this, everyone else looked at him with expressions of utter disbelief.

Yuwen Hao was the first to hesitate before speaking: "Dr. Gu, is it really appropriate for you to bring such a big guitar into the dungeon...?"

Gu Mian, seemingly unwilling to listen to advice, said, "No problem, I think it's fine."

Seeing that he couldn't have a normal conversation with the doctor, Yuwen Hao had no choice but to change the subject.

"Alright, now that we've all met, let's talk about this instance first. My task is to survive for ten days, what about yours?"

The others nodded in agreement; it seemed everyone had the same task.

“The main theme of this instance seems to be related to a curse. I think it’s somewhat similar to the movie The Ring. You guys have seen The Ring, right?” Yuwen looked at the others.

It turns out that the horror film "The Ring" has a wide audience.

The only female player present, Lin Yue'er, hadn't seen the film, but she had heard of its infamous reputation and knew that Sadako would crawl out of the television and kill those she cursed.

The slightly chubby, nerdy guy with golden wings spoke up: "You mean our current situation is similar to those cursed by Sadako?" "Yes," Yuwen Hao nodded: "In horror movies, Sadako crawls out of the TV on the seventh day to kill people, but our instance doesn't give a specific time for the ghost to kill."

"This instance only says... 'it' will get closer and closer to us. It's certain that the ghost will slowly approach us over these ten days. The closer it gets, the more dangerous it will be for us."

Yuwen Hao suddenly stopped speaking, then looked around as if searching for something.

Gu Mian looked at him: "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing," Yuwen Hao frowned. "I felt like something was watching me just now..."

After a few seconds of pause, he continued, "Everyone has been through at least one dungeon before, so you should all know that the ghosts in dungeons are beyond our ability to deal with."

"Neither peach wood swords, Buddhist scriptures, nor black dog blood can deal with those ghosts; they are virtually unsolvable!"

When Yuwen Hao got to this point, he suddenly flinched, as if he had remembered something terrifying.

Gu Mian suddenly missed the ghost she had dragged out of the bed by the neck.

"While the ghost is unsolvable, none of the dungeons are unsolvable. There must be a way to survive within them. So if we want to survive in this dungeon, we must find a clue to survive!"

These words made perfect sense, and the others were somewhat moved.

Even Lin Yue'er, who wasn't usually talkative, asked, "So how do you think we can survive for ten days in this dungeon?"

Without much hesitation, Yuwen Hao said, "I suspect it's about finding the root of the curse."

As he spoke, he looked at everyone and said, "From what I've observed, the five of us live in different apartment buildings, and we all live alone. I suspect this is to make it easier for the ghost to attack us."

"To find the root of the problem, we need to understand this curse first. So I suggest that everyone refrain from any special actions for now. Tonight, let's all go back to our lodgings and see what happens..."

Lin Yue'er opened her mouth as if to say something: "But..."

“Don’t be afraid,” Yuwen Hao interrupted her. “This instance lasts for ten days, which also means that ‘it’ has been getting closer, so there shouldn’t be any danger at the beginning. ‘It’ is still far away from us.”

"We can take advantage of these relatively safe days at the beginning to look for clues about the curse in the dungeon and try to find a way out within a safe period of time."

As he spoke, he looked at the others and saw that everyone was listening attentively, except for the doctor.

He seemed to be lost in thought.

"Dr. Gu," Yuwen Hao frowned and tapped the table in front of Gu Mian: "Are you listening to me, Dr. Gu?"

Gu Mian then turned her gaze to him: "I'm listening, but it seems like it's getting dark."

Yuwen Hao was slightly taken aback, turned his head to look at the window behind him, and sure enough, it was already dark, and soon the night would completely envelop this area.

He didn't want to walk back at night, so he kept it brief: "Anyway, let's go back to our respective places tonight."

"Nobody has a cell phone...right? The friend system can't be used in the dungeon either, so we'll have to use the phone to keep in touch. Try not to sleep tonight, and if you find anything, communicate by phone immediately."

This instance is extremely realistic. You will feel sleepy, hungry, and thirsty in it. You won't starve to death, but it will definitely affect your overall state.

The sun had just completely set when the five people came out, and the others scattered and hurried back.

Gu Mian lagged behind, intending to find a supermarket to browse. He had previously found a stack of RMB in his room.

He finally found a supermarket, bought two large bags of popcorn, and then went into the DVD rental shop next door.

Behind the counter, the owner, with slightly yellow teeth, gave him a lewd grin: "Young man, what do you want to rent? I have everything you could possibly need here~"

The intonation and rhythm of the voice were just like that of a brothel madam who would stand shirtless outside a brothel, soliciting customers.

Gu Mian took out some money: "Give me two Midnight Ringtones."

Thank you Lin Fenghan for the donation. (′‵)I L
