Chapter 147 Tonight May Be Gone

Chapter 147 Tonight May Be Gone

The heavy rain poured down from the sky.

In the silent night, there was no sound except for the rustling sound. Not far away was a continuous mountain range. Gu Mian knew that this was not Rong'an Residential Area.

He saw large raindrops hitting the driver, but the driver seemed completely unconcerned, merely twitching his lips with a strange smile.

"We've arrived," the driver said.

Gu Mian did not move.

"We've arrived," the driver's voice came from outside the car window again.

Gu Mian still didn't move.

"We've arrived," the driver mechanically repeated.

His eerie voice, combined with the sound of the pouring rain, sounded even more unsettling.

Gu Mian looked up.

The person outside was hunched over, bending at an odd angle, their face almost touching the car window.

The driver's wet face still wore that unchanging smile.

Gu Mian saw his mouth open and close as he uttered two words: "We've arrived."

After a moment of silence, the people inside the car finally made a move.

"Do you know..." Gu Mian lowered her head again and spoke in a muffled voice through the car window.

The driver, in the rain, almost pressed his face against the car window, staring intently at Gu Mian inside.

Gu Mian didn't pay any attention, but instead pressed her scalp against his face and continued talking.

"I once taught twenty-eight unruly students who never respected their teachers, and even threatened, intimidated, and physically assaulted them."

"I felt this wouldn't do, so I gave them a good talking-to. Actually, I didn't want it to turn out this way at first... but things went very smoothly afterward, and they all died."

The wind and torrential rain pounded against the car windows, making them rattle and bang.

The person outside, who was hunched over, stiffened slightly, and their smile seemed to freeze on their face.

Gu Mian raised her head slightly.

"Later I met a woman, I forgot her name, but she was a unreasonable and ruthless woman."

“She killed many people with resentment, and everyone was helpless against her. I felt this couldn't continue; she couldn't remain in this world with such resentment. I had to save this person whose hands were stained with countless lives, to help her repent and start anew.”

"I think the moment her head fell off her neck, she should have regretfully reflected on her life."

Gu Mian raised her head a little more.

At the same time, he reached for the guitar bag not far away.

The people outside stopped what they were doing, and stopped knocking on the car window and making any more noise.

The rain poured down, and the noisy sound of rain filled the entire night.

Gu Mian then spoke.

"That doctor who colluded with the wealthy, I told you about him not long ago, he actually had a grand dream."

"I can't say much about what his dream was, but I can tell you that when I watched him fall from the tenth floor and shatter into a flower, I helped him fulfill his dream."

As the driver finished speaking, he saw that everyone in the car finally raised their heads, their faces displaying expressions that seemed completely out of place with their surroundings.

He had never seen that expression on any of his victims' faces. It was a strange, smug smile.

At the same time, a bolt of lightning suddenly struck down on their heads, as if a bright light burst forth from a crack in the sky, and the driver felt his eyes dazzled.

Accompanying the bright light was a deafening clap of thunder, which rang out right above their heads.

Even amidst the deafening thunder, the driver heard a strange, chilling laugh emanating from inside the car—"Hehehe."

Then he saw the doctor in the car open the guitar case in his hand.

But there was no guitar inside.

A gleaming chainsaw was pulled from the bag, its sharp edges gleaming in the lightning.

The man carrying the axe in the rain seemed to stumble slightly. He saw the man with the chainsaw in the car reach out to open the car door.

"Master, drive faster!" the fat man shouted anxiously, craning his neck to look ahead.

The dense raindrops kept hitting the windshield. The wipers kept swiping, but each time they wiped the windshield, even more raindrops would hit it.

The people inside the car could barely see what was ahead.

The entire car was being pounded by dense raindrops, making a thumping sound all around.

The fat man ignored the surrounding noise and stared wide-eyed at the windshield, as if he could wipe away the layer of rainwater on it with his eyes.

Because the car was going so fast, the rain on the windshield was almost blown backwards by the wind.

This kind of dangerous weather is already difficult to drive in, not to mention the car windows are completely fogged up, and now they are driving towards the mountains, where the rain is flowing down in torrents.

Because of its location near mountains, the rainwater here is much deeper than in other places, making driving in this environment extremely dangerous and prone to accidents.

Fortunately, this car seems to be different from ordinary cars.

The driver was also different from ordinary drivers. Although the windshield was completely scratched, the driver still drove the car as if he didn't need to look at the road.

“Actually, I’m not too worried about Gu Mian’s safety,” Chu Changge said, adjusting his glasses as he sat down next to her. “However, the difficulty of these two dungeons wasn’t explained, which makes me a little confused.”

The fat man turned around and said, "Brother Chu, why are you having so many questions right now? You should worry about the doctor instead."

Chu Changge turned her head: "I don't think worrying about him here will do any good."

That's very true and makes a lot of sense. The fat man couldn't refute it and could only silently swallow his anger.

The mountain is near.

Even though the windshield was completely blurred by the rain, the fat man could still vaguely see a range of mountains ahead.

He jumped for joy: "We're almost there!"

"Hmm," Chu Changge said, looking out the window, "We're almost there."

The closer you get to the mountain, the more rapid the water flow becomes on the road.

The driver was clearly in a hurry, and he drove the car forward at high speed. After driving for about two or three minutes, the three of them saw what appeared to be lights ahead.

Even if the fat man was blind, he would recognize the lights; he had seen the taxi's high beams more than once that night.

"There's a taxi up ahead!" The fat man patted the seat. "The doctor must be in it!"
