Chapter 313 Poison in the Coffin
"Since you've come all this way, why don't you experience what it's like to face the camera?" Su Meiyu poked a hole in the lunchbox with her chopsticks, put it aside, and suddenly suggested.

"Let's forget about it. Xiaowei and I have already discussed this topic." Su Qingyue shook her head and refused.

"Oh, I see." Su Meiyu picked up her phone, pressed the power button, glanced at the time, stood up, and gestured, "My schedule is packed this afternoon, so I need to take a nap while I still have time to recharge."

"Take a rest." Su Qingyue handed over a disposable lunchbox.

"Hmm." Su Meiyu stopped after taking a few steps and said, "It seems that some ancient tomb has been discovered nearby. If you're bored, you can go and take a look."

"Shall we go take a look?" Su Qingyue turned to ask Chen Wei.

"I'm fine with anything, I still have plenty of time to rest." Chen Wei finished the last bite of rice, pierced the lunchbox with his chopsticks, stood up, and threw it into the trash can.

Su Qingyue followed in his footsteps.

"Could there be something terrifying in the ancient tomb?" Having learned from her previous experience and knowing that death does not mean the end, Su Qingyue became somewhat wary.

Suddenly I regretted asking Chen Wei. Wouldn't it have been better to just stay in the film studio, lie in the shade of the big willow tree and take a nap?
"Reality is different from movies." Chen Wei encouraged Su Qingyue to be bolder and not to be afraid of those unreal things.

"Okay." Su Qingyue found that she was becoming more and more easily persuaded.

Guided by passersby, Chen Wei and Su Qingyue arrived at the so-called ancient tomb.

The entire tomb chamber has been cleared out. It is trapezoidal in shape, and the space becomes smaller as you go down. There is only one coffin, and there are many funerary objects next to it. The archaeological team is carefully excavating and cleaning them out.

This was the first time Chen Wei had observed the tomb chamber so closely. Sure enough, just as he had said, there was a difference between reality and the movies.

There were no intricately designed tombs like palaces, no hidden arrows or poison gas for security, and no mutated spiders the size of elephants or any other terrifying creatures.

Compared to the tomb raiding content in movies and TV dramas, reality is much more boring and doesn't offer much interest to outsiders.

"What's wrong with you?" A researcher suddenly collapsed beside the coffin. Seeing this, the people around him immediately stopped what they were doing, paid attention to the markings on the ground, and came to his side.

"It's nothing, he probably just had heatstroke," the man waved his hand.

"Let me help you to rest for a bit."

"Okay." He suddenly felt weak all over and couldn't even force himself to stay upright, so he could only agree.

"This isn't heatstroke, it's poisoning. I suggest you move the coffin far away and detonate it directly," Chen Wei reminded them as the two passed by.

It seems there are some anti-theft measures in place.

"Poisoning?" The two archaeologists exchanged glances, chuckled, and didn't take Chen Wei's words seriously.

The reason is simple: he is not an authority figure.

From the perspective of the two archaeologists, they were more professional than Chen Wei.

If we categorize them by level, Chen Wei is at the first level, while they are at the second, third, or higher level.

How could someone who thinks they are in a superior position possibly be willing to listen to the opinions of someone in a lower position?

“Xiaowei, is he really poisoned?” Su Qingyue, however, took Chen Wei’s words to heart.

"Yes, it's definitely poisoning," Chen Wei affirmed.

"You said you wanted to detonate the coffin, which proves that the poison originated from the coffin itself, and he was just working nearby. Was the poison spread through gas?" Su Qingyue asked again.

"Yes, to be precise, the coffin itself wasn't poisonous; the poison leaked out from inside the coffin." "Leaked out from inside the coffin?" Su Qingyue was even more curious. "This ancient tomb looks quite old. How did they store the gas inside and keep it there for so long?" Su Qingyue thought, there shouldn't have been any air guns in ancient times, right?

"Just make the poison into a volatile solid block, store it inside, and then seal the gaps in the coffin from the outside."

"So over time, the coffin itself corroded, and poisonous gas began to leak out from the cracks, right?" Su Qingyue had already figured out her thoughts.

"That's right. Sister, you can look at your feet. There's no grass or trees growing here, which means the soil has been affected by the toxic gas and is rotten."

Chen Wei's words were reasonable and well-founded, leaving Su Qingyue no choice but to believe him. "So what do we do now?"

"I've already warned them." Chen Wei only said it once; if they wouldn't listen to good advice, there was nothing he could do.

You can't exactly beg them to believe you, can you?

He had good intentions, but he didn't stoop to such a lowly position.

"Old Jiang, the burial items beside the coffin have all been cleared out, and we can open the coffin now." A team member ran up to an elderly man with white hair and reported the progress of the work.

"Alright, prepare to open the coffin," Jiang Ning gave the order.

After hesitating for a moment, Su Qingyue finally spoke up, "No! We can't open the coffin, there's poisonous gas inside."

Jiang Ning glanced at Su Qingyue, amazed by her beauty, but said nothing more, indicating to the team members to carry out the order and not to take her words to heart.

Who would poison their own coffin for no reason?

"See? There are self-righteous people everywhere. Your words of help seem more childish than a child's words to them." Chen Wei wasn't mocking Su Qingyue. He reached out and put his arm around her shoulder, pulling her away.

To prevent the poison gas from spreading.

With the super operating table, Chen Wei could guarantee Su Qingyue's safety, but it was best to avoid the pain of inhaling toxic gas as much as possible.

boom!
"what!"

I hadn't walked more than a few steps when an explosion and screams rang out behind me at the same time.

When I turned around again, a cloud of green mist was already rising into the air.

Jiang Ning ran just in time; he only inhaled a tiny bit before he started to feel dizzy and lightheaded.

Thanks to the strong winds, the green mist was quickly dispersed, and Jiang Ning washed his face several times before he felt much better.

"Everyone is..." When they returned to the edge of the burial pit, they found that all six archaeologists had collapsed to the ground, convulsing, foaming at the mouth, and showing signs of ulceration on their bodies.

What else could this condition be but poisoning?
"Old Jiang, something terrible has happened! Little Li..." The young team member who had helped the first person who inhaled the poison gas to rest ran back in a panic. He had only spoken halfway when he saw the horrific scene in the tomb.

Inside the opened coffin, the bones had turned black. Seeing this, even a fool could figure out why those people had put the body in such a state.

"Wait a minute!" Seeing Chen Wei and Su Qingyue walk away, Jiang Ning quickly ran up to them.

The young team members followed closely behind.

"Wait a minute, since you know there's poison hidden in the coffin, you must know how to detoxify it, right?" Jiang Ning ran up to Chen Wei and Su Qingyue, opened his arms, and said while panting heavily.

"I know, but I won't save them."
